• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

What could cause this Squeal on starting out in first gear?

Seems our chirping started after installing the NOCO due to slow cranking. The noise comes and goes as I changed the oil - Amsoil MCF 10W40. Noise was pretty common until last week, and then I changed the oil - now it comes and goes again. Maybe we should get this looked at by the $tealer while...

Elka Stage 2 rear shock with loose spacers/bushings (black) - should they be like this?

Yes the plastic spacers are normal. The bolt pinches the metal sleeve in the center, assuming its torqued properly. The sleeves just keep the shock centered up. It's not the best setup I've seen, but it is how they do it.

My 2024 RTL Top Case has Excessive Movement - anyone experience this phenomenon?

I first installed some heavy foam under the box to space things out, but then noted the box still rocked. I then installed some heater hose over the front hinges to finish snuggling things up. I'd say 90% improvement.

Tooting my own horn here - my Elka II Rear shock install went well!

Pulled the plastic the first time while doing all 3 shocks and some wiring, but found it much quicker/easier to just pull the rear tire to gain access to the rear only for a spring change.

Will the Canyon front shocks fit on a 2021 RT?

You won't regret the money spent! The new found control up front will only show how bad the rear is and take more of your money!

Interesting DESS issue - do you think no cell signal or bluetooth caused this, or is it time for a new key?

I have regularly had issue with the fob on my KTM 1290 when parked under a gas station canopy. The first time it was a bit unnerving, but I pushed the bike out into the open air and she started right up. Another time, both the RT and the KTM had key issues and we had to push them both out from...

20,000 miles and still have OEM front tires

Installed the 165/60 Conti's on our 23 RTL yesterday at just under 20K miles. The LF Kenda always had a little wiggle at certain speeds. No fit issues and the ride/handling difference seems night and day! The wife will be the judge as I don't ride this thing very often. Would like to try the...

2024 RT wont shift into reverse - anyone else? Any ideas/fixes?

Our 2023 wouldn't go into reverse twice in the same day. Only thing I could add to that situation is that it was 113-114° both times it happened. 6500 miles since and the issue has never shown back up.

What are your thoughts on any potential reliability/issues of this 16 year old Spyder?

I'd pass on that one! Too many signs it was neglected. Original brake fluid and coolant still in it? The 10 year old thing doesn't freak me out because we should have parts for at least 10 years after the generation of bikes change according to US laws? The generation ending in 2019...

Recommend any Rear shock replacements other than the $$$ Elka's??

There is an adjuster (bi-directional bleed) that affects both compression and rebound at same time.

Recommend any Rear shock replacements other than the $$$ Elka's??

As a shock/suspension tuner I'm very aware of how the components work together. Everyone has their own theory and idea of what is best. I most do Jeeps/Trucks but dabble in motos. The stuff generally coming from most of the manufacturers is horrible out of the box, but the buyers don't really...

Recommend any Rear shock replacements other than the $$$ Elka's??

I get it... most people riding these things are not "performance enthusiasts" and can be satisfied when it starts and moves on its own power. The complication of too many adjustment is just too much. I'm looking forward to throwing a leg over a Canyon and having the ability to tune the OE...
