• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Any way to beef up amps available?

The early Spyders magneito had a speckled output of 400 watts, that is a total of 33.333 Amps @ 12 Volts. If you are wonder what a magneto is, it is nearly identical to an automotive alternator except it is driven by a gear in the motor instead of a belt. The later Spyders had a larger magneto...

Alternator output 2010 RT to tax 990 vs new 1330 ace RT

The magneto on the early Can-Am Spyders were 400 watts Total at 12V that is 33.333 amps total for the system. I suggest using huge caps at the power input to keep from flat topping when drawing those momentary peak currents. Oh the Spyder has never had a "frunk" it's a trunk check your manual...

    Spyder Just Died

If it's in second gear and it's a SE5 it wont ever start until you get it back into first gear! I had a similar issue the first day that I brought my 2008 GS home I found a very short sentence in the book that stated it must be in Natural or first with the brake on to get the starter to be...

    Power Steering / DPS

Spyders of this time did not have alternators, they had a magneto, which is the same as an alternator except it runs directly from a gear and is part of the engine. If ya want to do a quick check to find out if the DPS is working, just lift the seat and there is a fuse box there and I believe...

    Spyder Alternator QUESTION

By the way, the 2008 GS magneto, Definately does not put out 650 watts, it's about 44 amps. But I dont know how much of that is used for systems operation. It seems no one knows even BRP and I find that hard to believe!

    Luck Finally Ran Out

I have 2008 GS, 2014 STS, and now a Ryker Rally. But each and every Yassa battery has lasted me at least 5 years each even in NC not starting during winter for a couple months. If you dont get that kind of life you have some issues like something drawing current when it shouldnt! I have never...

    SpyderGirl...

Hi Spydergirl, 3 amps is 36 watts (volts x current=watts) (watts devised by (either volts or amps gives the other)) the Ryker, at least the Rally puts out 400 watts by the specifications. I think you are using LED head lights you have cut a lot of current. But what I dont know is what...

    Antenna removal

Radio Antenna removal I've always found if you slide the rubber boot up the whip and use a 7mm open end wrench that my whip comes off very easily........ But I recently bought an outside storage cover from Can Am it has a small hole for the whip to fit through... be aware it seems BRP has a...

NEW DRIVE BELT DESIGN COMPARISON F3 vs ST

If you're worried about the belt, my 2008 GS will smoke the tires off. That seems to be about as bad as you can get on the belt. Dont worry about it, just ride.

    SE-5 SHIFTING PROBLEMS

Problems shifting out of reverse The only problem that I have had is shifting out of reverse. at times it will shift into Nutral just fine ...like at the dealership when I go to have it checked. at others I hit the shifter to make the shift and all I get is an "E" on the gear position indicater...
