• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Anyone here like planning their own routes?

I spend winter evenings with a National Geographic Adventure Atlas and a yellow highlighter. There are all sorts of interesting places in tiny red letters. If I'm interested, I mark it, plus any twisty roads. I always bring the Atlas on road trips because I never know where I'll end up until I...

Spyder owners are stuck up - why is this so?? Please explain...

Been riding now 57 years. As such I always wave. I also ride two bikes, with a two finger down wave. It always occurs to me while on the Spyder I should give other Spyder and trike riders a three finger down wave. I always seem to forget. Gotta start doing three fingers, like the secret...

I was stupid! Battery dead at just 3 years!

Mine lasted five years and I took pretty good care of it. About 2016 I walked into my local battery store. Before I get near the counter the guys says, "Oh, a Harley battery, no problem." I kind of go into a rant on how my original Gold Wing battery lasted ten years and was still working strong...

How do you handle different tire pressure readings?

Could be, it's been over fifty years since I last drove a tractor trailer. Times change.

Noticed any (other?) improvements after the Front Sprocket Recall?

Terry, while my Spyder was down waiting for the sprocket I set to work trying to reduce extraneous sound. My alignment was OK but I too worked the cricket. I screwed it all together at that recommended 180 range. Better, but still needed more. Did it all again to right about 200 and the belt...

How do you handle different tire pressure readings?

Go to your local truck stop and buy one of the miniature baseball bats they sell for checking tires. Use it to get an even bounce from the front tires. OK good to go. Now since the rear is so hard to get to, use the bat to bust up two out of three gages. Then just use whatever one is left...

Noticed any (other?) improvements after the Front Sprocket Recall?

I've been riding with the new sprocket since late November. While I no longer hear the shaft grinding away at the sprocket I believe your noticing proper belt tension and alignment.

    Engineering Idiocy

I'm a geezer too, with much of the same complaints. However going back to simple oil changes also could mean points, condensers and plugs along with the oil change. Now that I think of it that wasn't a very big deal either. Makes me want to go out and buy a Shovelhead.

Who Out There Has Gotten The Replacement Sprocket?

Oh Pete, don't say that Canadian thing. I never say "eh". My location is NoVA. As in Northern Virginia. BTW the story around here is that my dealer who is very large multi brand and carries, hordes of motorcycles, ski mobiles, side x sides, trikes, trailers etc. and they own everything on...

Who Out There Has Gotten The Replacement Sprocket?

Pete, thank you for your advice and concern. However I do have the silver sprocket. Keep in mind I live 750-800 land miles from Valcourt, Quebec. The vast majority of those miles on Interstate highway. So while my sprocket was rolling down I-81 at 75 mph. your's may have been sitting in a...

2020 Top Box Will Not Remain Open - any solutions?

The struts on both the seat and trunk lid started to weaken last year. Mine is a 2016 RT. Of course it wasn't going anywhere due to the Red Dust of Death. So it sat, for six months. I'm not paying CanAm $80. when they knowingly put out defective parts. A stick or door stop is just fine.

Who Out There Has Gotten The Replacement Sprocket?

A couple of months late to this thread. I had mine done in mid November. Dropped it off mid week and picked it up the next week. I have no idea about any wait time for the Loctite, was never told anything. I do know there was a backup of sprocket repairs so that is why I dropped it off early...

Hard time opening side bags on 2020 RT LTD - anyone else?

I have a '16 RT and have found that cleaning and lubing the latches a couple of times a year works. It depends on accumulated road dust.

2019 limited rt no stable ride on interstate.

Along with a lighter grip is the need for mileage. It takes time to adapt to Spyder handling. Also, consider this. On a bike you have a single track hitting potholes, tar shakes and groves in pavement. In a car you have two tracks hitting these obstructions. On a Spyder you are getting hit from...
