• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

There really are no alternatives to the Can Am reverse trikes

For me, it wasn't the age so much as my size. I drove a buddy of mines and it was the worst first 10 minute ride that I had ever taken. Then after that I started to fall in love with it. He had the "S" version, so the brakes were a bit soft, but otherwise it was great. Then the time came for...

Hope I'm not done riding my Spyder for the year?!

Is this the one in Roxboro? I saw that there was one and thought I would participate this year.

Hope I'm not done riding my Spyder for the year?!

Well, this is the last weekend (Saturday) before the time change and sunset starts before 6pm. I usually ride anytime it is sunny and temps are 40+. But once the sun goes down too early, my longer rides are limited, altho a 200 mile day is still possible.

2020 RT Limited Rear Case Removal - does the cover come with the bike? Should I expect it when buying a used bike?

Keep an eye on ebay and you might find one there. I found one that was listed as a frunk lid for a 2021. The picture clearly showed me what it was and I bought it for $40.

Anyone know what these things on the front wheels are?

You beat me to the answer. I don't have a set, but they were a going thing around here in the lighted community. Haven't seen any in a while. Lots of the guys and girls in the local Spyder and Slingshot group used to have them.

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Welcome! Don't know if I have seen anyone else post up here from Japan. Welcome to the community. Funny thing, my daughter is vacationing in Japan at this very moment. She is supposed to be flying back into the US this coming Thursday. Waiting on a report from her to decide if the wife and I...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Rode the wife's Spyder out for about an hour yesterday after church just to keep the battery charged up. Supposed to be rainy and cool all week here in NC, but nice this coming weekend. With Saturday being the latest sunset we will have for a while after the time change, I think I will try to...

Hope I'm not done riding my Spyder for the year?!

Not riding today, but will probably ride a little tomorrow. Supposed to start out at around 40° and get to 62°. For me, that is acceptable, especially if it is sunny. My all time low for riding was 29° degrees. I was considering finishing up the NorthEast part of my cross country trip in early...

Does a first service/oil change at 500 miles sound "normal" for a 2024 RTL

I really love those "break in" recommendations. I have only bought 2 brand new Spyders. On the 2014 RT, I took it on a 500 mile day trip for some mountain riding on the second day of ownership. On my 2016 F3T, it was delivered to me while on our annual guy vacation trip to the mountains. I...

Does a first service/oil change at 500 miles sound "normal" for a 2024 RTL

I have been having my oil changes done at 3,000 and then 9300 after that. Once the warranty is over, I do it myself at around 8,000-9,000 intevals. I would always tend to let the dealership do the first oil change, just so that I can then give them the newer hex bolts to use. I have heard of...

Should I get a 2014 now, or wait and get a newer model? Any 'gotta have' features?

I would have no issues buying a 2014 RT. My first Spyder was a 2014 RT, and the only issue that I had with it was the DESS issue with the ignition key. Outside of that, it was flawless. The quality was much better than on my 2021 RTL, but I like the removeable trunk on the newer ones. The only...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Removed my luggage rack from the rear hitch after the trip back from the NC mountains. While umpacking things, I broke the latch on the right saddle bag! That is always fun. Now I'm going to give the dealership a call tomorrow and see if this item will be covered on my extended BRP...

    2025 Motorcycle of the Year

I don't do enough off roading (even dirt roading) to justify a Canyon of any kind. I know the wife's seating is more comfortable on my RTL than it would be on the Canyon. If I was to do some dirt riding, I would just pick up a deal on a Ryker and not have to worry at all about the belt drive...

What did you do to your Spyder today?

Final checks on the 2021 RTL. We are heading up to Maggie Valley for 5 days of riding and relaxing. I installed the center light and luggage rack about 2 weeks ago. Today I am double checking the fluids and air pressure. Weather is looking great, all except for possible rain on the first 50...

Buying a new helmet - who replaces them every 5 years per manufacturers spec??

I never really thought about it, but I guess I do swap out helmets every 4-5 years. I tend to use a 3/4 helmet for the spyder and modular for the 2 wheelers. I also swap out jackets every 3-5 years also. That is mainly due to them fading over time. I start out with a black jacket and after about...
