• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Will Ultimate Passenger backrest interfere with ShowChrome rack/trunk opening?

I have the ultimate backrest/luggage rack combo and there is no clearance issues. After a new ultimate seat and backrest and a new F4 windscreen, she's still not as comfortable as when we had the Goldwing...considering go to a Goldwing trike.

    Cost of Oil Change

I win! $420 at my local dealer for an oil change. ($660 for an alignment) Needless to say, I'll be doing my own oil changes in the future.

Red Dust of Death Recall???? Front Sprocket Recall - FINALLY....

Ulflyer, as you can tell from my post above, my main issue is with my dealer and my post was mainly a venting process. I should have also checked with this forum, but I didn't. My bad. Having been told that conforming to the safety recall was a dealer decision option was unacceptable and caused...

Red Dust of Death Recall???? Front Sprocket Recall - FINALLY....

And another lovely experience with my Can Am dealer. When the notice came out, I called in late May to make an appointment for this safety recall. We discussed that I had done my own inspection and would very much prefer to just wait bringing it in for the final repair. They agreed and we...

Need Warranty work done - should I remove mods first?

Depends on your relationship with the dealer. We're not on the best of terms, so some of my mods come off.

When and where was the first time you rode a Can-Am tryke ??

The natural urge to counter-steer nearly put me in the ditch or in front of an on-coming car many, many times before I got home. Un-learning is difficult to do at my age.

When and where was the first time you rode a Can-Am tryke ??

First ride was after flying 1500 miles to pick my newly purchased used RT from an individual. After the first day on the road back home, I called the SO and told her " I'm selling this damn thing as soon as I get home, If I get home." 50+ years of two wheeled riding and several decades of...

Red Dust of Death Recall???? Front Sprocket Recall - FINALLY....

I'm on the list. I think I may pull my LaMonster belt tensioner before taking it in for the checkout. My dealer and I don't have the best relationship and I don't want to give them an excuse to deny the safety recall work.

Will Using 87 Octane impact performance?

Engine Masters on the Motor Trend network did an outstanding job on testing 87 oct. gas up to 116 oct. gas to see if higher oct. gas produces more power; it doesn't. E85 was the only fuel that showed a minor gain in power. As they put it "gas is gas". This testing was done on the same engine...

    Shop Rates! Wow!

Just got off the phone "discussing" the $660 (4hrs.) alignment and the $487 oil change with the service manager. His comments were that's the corporate rate for these services and he is stuck with the charge rate. (Really, I'm stuck with it.) He's offered me a $200 gift certificate when I'm...

Anybody used My Genius from Monster Fuel Injection?

From what I can tell, Can Am went to a full digital (CAN bus) communication for the different control modules in 2017. This communication protocol allows the use of the My Genus programmer where the old style wiring harness doesn't allow direct access to the ECU. Like on my 2016 Camaro, I've...

Star washers for trunk rack mounting?

Thanks for providing the clarification on star washers Pegasus. Easy to confuse the two items with the same name. I still would like to hear if the star washers/fender washers are even necessary. When I drilled the mounting hole in the trunk lid I noticed that the lid has a lot more...

Has anyone given their Spyder a "Name"???

Escape Pod. When you just got to get away for a while. I'll tell the S.O. "Hey, I'm taking the Escape Pod today."....She gets it.

Star washers for trunk rack mounting?

On the Goldwings, the trunk lid was prone to cracking over time, even with little weight on a trunk rack. The solution was the use of large washers or Big Bike star washers underneath the rack mounting posts to spread the weight to a larger surface area. Has there been any problem with the...

Anyone used one of these Fuel Bladders

As far as the high ethanol warning, I would interpret that to mean no E85 or E50 fuels. 10 to 15% ethanol content in most of our fuel may degrade the bladder over the years, but should be fine for quite a while. I just wouldn't store fuel in it over the winter and empty it before storing. A...
