• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Accident July 7, 2018. Prayers needed

Awesome news I do not know either of you personally, but I have been following Kathy's progress from the first post. I am so happy to hear she has recovered well enough to move to another facility. Thoughts and prayers are sent your way daily.

Front End Side to Side Waggle

Lurk and learn! I say lurk as much as you want and learn all you can. There's a lot of very knowledgable folks here. As BoilerAnimal shared the nature of the beast makes it difficult to find the sweet spot on bumpy roads. In Missouri, our roads are "fixed" with chip and seal and get very...

Front End Side to Side Waggle

Another newbie's two-cents worth I've only had a motorcycle license since July 2017, so I am a newbie in more than just the Spyder world. Got my permit in April 2017 and hubby bought me a 2014 Suzuki Boulevard as a learner bike (new, with only a couple miles on the odometer). I rode it from...

    bike insurance

Nationwide Surprised I didn't see Nationwide in anyone's recommendations. They were slightly higher on the bikes than when I priced State Farm last fall, but about the same amount less on our car and truck (so about a wash - netted out to a difference of about $10 a month). We stuck with...

    Totally thrilled, but soaking wet!

I am not a big risk taker so I tend to be cautious anyway, more so if the roads are not ideal. I guess that comes from being raised by a truck driver and then turning around and marrying one. I have heard stories about careless drivers, bad weather conditions, etc. my whole life. I'd rather get...

    Birds!

You might be onto something. Maybe Spyders look like a treat from the sky. Wasn't it Hostess that ran several commercials a while back with vehicles that birds saw as Twinkies, cupcakes, etc.? :roflblack: :roflblack: :roflblack:

    Spyder Sightings

First sighting Green and Black F3 Spotted the first Spyder I've seen since adopting mine last month. Green and black F3 heading northbound on US 69 highway just north of the Prescott, KS exit in Linn County around 7:00 pm. I was so surprised to see it, that I didn't catch if it was an F3 or an...

    Butterflies anyone????

Looks like you might have got them all! The other south TX riders can cruise bug-free now! :roflblack: :roflblack: :roflblack:

    Totally thrilled, but soaking wet!

Another item for my wish list! I have a insulated pair for fall/winter riding and a lighter pair that I bought for the riding course I took (gloves required, was not doing insulated gloves in July). Neither are waterproof, but they would cut the sting of the rain hitting my hands. I am going to...

    Totally thrilled, but soaking wet!

Hoping to avoid hail and snow! Raindrops hurt enough! Definitely need to get my gloves out of hubby's bike, that was the only thing I lacked in my gear today. Well, other than a diving helmet! :roflblack:

Yeppers, that was a secondary reason for taking the scenic route, it's posted speed is 45 vs the highway's posted speed of 75. It's smooth, but not as heavily traveled because of the lower speed and the number of little communities / neighborhoods that drop it to 35. For safety's sake, I threw...

    Totally thrilled, but soaking wet!

Well, took a gamble and lost. Studied the radar and weather forecast and really thought I'd be out of town before the rain started but Mother Nature threw me a curveball and swung that storm around right into my path. First time as a rider in a torrential downpour. Completely thrilled with how...

    Is it just me or???

Hmmm Now that you mention it, I realized how natural it seems to me...push to go (nudging forward), pull to slow her down (like reining in a horse). I had a 2008 40th Anniversary Mazda RX8 sports car with the slap shift. It's been a few years since we traded her for our HD CVO, but I am pretty...

    HOLY COW!!

The rebate was the determining factor in our used vs new discussion last month. Went to a dealer with a 2010 RT with matching trailer for $10k with around 8,000 miles on it. Reasonable deal right? They wanted $7k down and something like 15-20% interest! Come to find out they only deal with...

Things I love about my spyder

:agree: I have so many people come up and say "What kind of bike is that?", "That's so cool!", "I've never seen one of those", etc. Of course, I also get the incredulous "You ride?" since the Midwest seems stuck in a different era as far as what women are "supposed" to do. LOL My favorites...
