• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Gatlinburg - Spyders in the Smokies Event

I'm definitely going to Lamonster's cookout this year :2thumbs: so i'll be there in TN , really can't say when i'll make a pass (or 3) on the Dragon , Hellbender etc., It may be best that i Ryde alone so only I get the ticket :cus: ... :joke: I look forward to meeting alot of you :spyder2:Lovers !!!

Not sure if dltang and I will go on any of the sanctioned rides. We might just get a few "nice ride" suggestions from lamonster or strike out on our own like patches recommended, ride around til you're good and lost then use the GPS to get back.

Yup, we'll start a new event "Lost in the Smokies" Does anyone hear bango music? hmmm

Are you bringing the "Spyder killer" again this year? :D :D :D

haha..yes, spyderkiller is coming out with me again.

Vinnie, what day will you be leaving. I am looking at leaving on Tuesday morning with 3 others and you are more than happy to join us, we all go your pace anyway.

Brian, if you register for the event, there will be a list of suggested routes available for self-guided tours. I only signed up for one organized tour on Wednesday, Sept. 23. Your alternate plan of getting "Lost in the Smokies" sounds good too, though.

This is what i do almost every weekend. I go out hit the back roads keep going till its time to head home then just cut the GPS on and hit the button that says Home.

Is this the September event? HDX and I will try to go - depending on some things but we'd like to try! I don't want to go on any planned rides - only some casual stuff w/ the Spyderlovers we meet. I'm not a fan for big group rides and I don't listen well to instructions and I tend to zone out when it gets too complicated:2thumbs: Just want to go and have good food, good laughs and meet new Spyderlovers.

Yes, it is. There are a lot of hotels to choose from, but a lot of us are staying at the Red Roof Inn (the one in Gatlinburg, not Pigeon Forge). My wife and I are only going on one organized ride. I think a lot of riders will just do their own thing and get together for meals and conversations.
Cheers,
Bruce

Bruce, I looked around the brp site to try to register for the event and couldn't find where to register. Spydergirl, if you can add me I would appreciate it. I will send aPM to you (Spydergirl) after I post this.

I'm with you, I don't want a great big group either. Now that I have like 11 or 12 riders interested I'm thinking we may need to split this group up into 2 and have the other group like about 15 minutes ahead or behind.

I'm up for whatever on Wednesday -- getting lost sounds nice, howeveer we do not have a GPS so we'll have to tag along with someone who does.

I can't wait!

** If you're wanting to go on the the Cherohala Skyway / Tail of the Dragon Loop Ride, PLEASE PM me so I can get a list together and e-mail out the route and planned stops that I have planned for that day - Tuesday, September 22nd. **

I have a GPS so getting lost is no big deal I'll just enter the location in to get us back :D

Same here..got the GPS mojo going. Splitting up sounds good..no worries..we will make it all work. There are always peeps that go slower or faster than the others. Slow peeps in the back and fast ones up front and stop at major intersections until the back catches up. Should be a blast, can't wait.

Smokies

My wife and I will be there with our two :spyder:s. Leaving early Saturday morning and staying till Sunday-week. Staying at Smokie Mountain resort!
Looking forward to meeting(:chat:) new Spyder Rider Friends and seeing the ones we have already met. Let the good times ROLL!!
