There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Terminally ill woman, 29, chooses to die two days after husband’s birthday

This is not intended to start a fierce debate. No one can make up your mind or choose your choices.
People have reasons to do the things they do.
It's just a story of awareness in watching the hard choices people face. It might not be your choice but it is hers.

I don't think there is a way anyone can actually give an honest answer to the burning question unless you are actually in the situation. "Would you end your life peacefully or would you let the tumor consume you, your family and die in pain and/or agony?"

This story makes you think about yourself and how blessed you are to be able to take a healthy next days breath.
Life is short, live it to the fullest.

At 80 YO I would love to have that option if needed. So far its not needed, but its something I have thought about. What are the other four states that allow it?

Hi ulflyer,

Re: At 80 YO I would love to have that option if needed.

IMO you actually do.

She lives here in the Portland area, so I have been following this all along.

Every year I also donate to the Death with Dignity organization.

Here is something for you to consider:

I hope this helps,

Hi 123

Re: No one can make up your mind or choose your choices.

Well, it would seem as though the Catholic Church does not agree with you.

To the best of my knowledge, this woman is not even a Catholic. They need to just stay out of it.

And I accept that not everyone will agree with me.

I don't remember saying or implying that the Catholic Church agree or disagreed with me. I forget things.
I do understand Brittany Maynard's situation and I get what she is doing.
Taking religion out of the equation: If I had a personal choice, Considering my diagnosis was dead on 100% without a shadow of a doubt fatal, I honestly would not want to burden anyone, nor would I want to suffer from the pain associated with it. I would rather go to sleep forever..... peacefully.

I've been through enough of my relatives dying from cancer and watching them as they become weak and helpless crying in pain, suffering in pain, pleading nurses for morphine to end it. I now this can be an emotional decision but I'm not in the mood to wither away and go through that pain and suffering.

It was a Weedhopper with Rotax 277 motor I bought several years ago just to see what it was like. I was then flying and teaching in a two seat XAir. After spending some time and cash repairing small stuff, I gave it a try. Upon taking off I found that running wide open it could barely maintain altitude and negotiating a turn became a hairy ordeal. I made it back to the field, a few feet over the trees, had a good landing, but was scared fitless! Ran an ad that evening, sold it the next day. A friend thought the prop wasn't set right, but I wasn't taking any more chances. :D

When the FAA came out with the Sport Pilot/Plane regs, that was pretty much the end of Ultralights and I sold the Xair. The Govt can't stand having a group operating outside their control.

:agree: Several States have enacted legislation to allow for it...
But they are still far too few!
It seems ironic, that you can put your suffering pet to rest;but not yourself. :gaah:

Sonny-Boy has already mentioned that he's got a chair, and some handcuffs in the basement: ready and waiting for me! :yikes:
