• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

This retirement thing, not sure of it.

Joe, you could do like a coworker of mine who's getting ready to retire---start doing some mechanic work. His first job: Putting a rear end in a recliner:thumbup:

You guys just keep coming up with good ideas  :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

I find that I can spend a lot of time thinking about all the things that I should do or have to do and then put them off until tomorrow. That way I've always got things to do. If the list gets too long just forget about it and go do something fun.

Do you know the one about the guy that was retired.

His wife asked him one day: "What are you going to do today?"

"Nothing", answered the guy.

"Isn't it what you did yesterday?" asked the wife.

"Yes", he answered, "and I didn't have time to finish."

Yesterday a friend called me at 9:00 a.m., "got any plans today?". "Not really" I said. "Good, we're riding to Kitty Hawk, meet at Murphys on 581 at 10:30". "I'll be there". Thus the 400 mile ride yesterday. I had to take it easy today to recover from yesterday. The work that has been on the list, Is still on the list. There's tomorrow.

Retirement Rule Number One:
Don't put off until tomorrow anything you can put off until the day after tomorrow.

Nap attacks'

You guys amuse me. I have been retired now for thirteen years and two months now and I still don't have time for morning an afternoon nap attacks. I have to many things that I want to do and I don't work an outside job either.

One thing I have began to develop is the ability to sleep past 4 AM for a long time I was waking at 0500. Then it became 0600. This morning it was 0755. usually hit the bed between 2200 an 2300. It usually takes me about 20 nanoseconds to go to sleep.

I could deal with the USAF, BUT you gotta be a saint to drive a school bus or be a driving instructor for teens (or old folks).

when you first retire...you need to travel...so you can appreciate what is called...doing nothing....I'm good at doing nothing

Join the Patriot Guard,do local rides, our Harley dealer has one most every weekend. I'm so busy sometimes I need a full time job to have weekends off! People are always calling me to help with something(computers, electronics etc.) thatr plus taking care of my wife who works to buy gas for our :f_spider:'s. I've been retired 7 yrs and have trouble finding time to sit around to enjoy books or TV,but always get a nap or two.

That might just work!! :D :2thumbs:

First, you need a new calendar. Rather than Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, your week is now: Sunday, First Saturday, Second Saturday, Third Saturday, Fourth Saturday, Fifth Saturday, and Real Saturday. Everything important must be done on a Saturday . . . My wife, a bit over ten years my junior, tried retirement . . . she took a one year leave of absence, starting June 28th . . . she went back to work just this past First Saturday! I wasn't ready to retire in my 50's, either . . . but now? :ohyea: . . . and there is always something to do . . . but don't do it all at once, or you will run out of things to do! Remember, if you can't do it today, you can always do it Saturday!

I already figured out that if the list of things to do gets too long, tear it up and start over with a new list.
