• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I finally got around to getting the pictures of the new saddle on my Spyder and uploading all of the pictures of the seat. Still hasn't been dry enough pavement to take it for a test ride but I am holding out hope for next week.

Hey Brian,
I like the way you matched the yellow on your Spyder with the yellow
on your snow blower, nice touch. That way you can drive something yellow year round! :joke:

Good photos

Nice photos. Where did you get the GPS mount? What is the "flag" thing? Is it to improve your conspicuity? Where did u get it? Thanks.

Hi Brian, Very Nice Looking Seat !!! :congrats: Looks like your ready for some serious ridin' :2thumbs:

The "flag thing" is a CB antenna.

Oh, thanks. What do u think about conspicuity issues? Does a flag help? Does helmet color, lights? Does helmet quality matter? Just bought Arai expensive helmet , see post on BRP helmets. Does expensive helmet help? Does " body armor" clothing help in accident?

Conspicuity is critical both to motorcycles and Spyder roadsters. I wouldn't bother mounting a flag unless I was participating in a slow moving parade, but retro-reflective piping on clothing is excellent. I like light-colored helmets as well. White is probably the best for conspicuity. The cost of a helmet is really not the critical issue. With an expensive helmet, you are often paying a lot for graphics. The important factor is that it is at least DOT approved. Your Arai is an excellent helmet. Armored clothing is great protection. :2thumbs: Don't forget to wear boots (over the ankle) and sturdy gloves as well.

Cheers,

Bruce

:agree:

Also, from NoMagicNeon, fender tipz lights and HID headlights really increases your visibility from the front and the Triple play kit with the center brake light upgrade really increases your visibility from the rear.

Along with what Director said, that reflective piping on motorcycle apparel is great. I have a Tourmaster Transition II riding jacket that has the reflective material used in piping across the back, arms and a 4" triangle in the center of the back. When the headlights of a vehicle following me hits that, it looks like the jacket has built in lights, its so bright. Plus, like a lot of motorcycle apparel, it has removable and adjustable body armor. Its like killing two birds with one stone. :) Actually three or four birds as the benefits of that type of clothing are far reaching. (waterproof, removable insulated liner, vented for summer use, fully adjustable fit, etc.)

 Cub Cadet yellow is pretty close to Spyder yellow.
Saw the Snow blower in the picts and boy did that bring back some bad memories of Indiana! It gets hot in GA, but, ya don't see too many those here!
Sorry, was having a flash-back. I like the seat!:2thumbs:

I had a red snow blower, moved it to TN. Thought about making into a planter in the front yard, the boss did not like the idea, had my son take it back to MD and sold it to my brother-in-law just as he blew up his old one. I do not miss needing a snow blower!!!!

Hey Brian, fortunately the color yellow is the only similarity the Spyder has to a Cub Cadet. :joke:

bjt What are those silver handle bar end caps? Really look nice. Are they bar end weights to cut down on viberation?
The silver bar ends are a Throttlemeister throttle tensioner (think cruise control or throttle lock) and matching bar end. They also serve as bar end weights to reduce vibration. I thing BJT has the heavier ones. Several other threads about these.

BJT...

OH ! MY!!!!! OH ! MY !

Should have done the daylong way instead of the Corbin. I r gonna cry....

After sitting on daddydarko's Corbin seat, I felt it wouldn't work out for me. At that time, I didn't realize that you can have the Corbin customized for you and the stock Corbin sits me too far forward. So my wife found out about Russell seats and we really liked everything about them. They are definately customized for you. They don't do a "generic" Spyder seat. So I feel I got the best seat for the money. Now if the weather would cooperate so I can ride on the thing.
