• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. Reports on Pitbull's Relocator?????

Thank you!!

The 2013s don't need them. The purpose of the relocators is to position the shocks on the earlier Spyders more vertically, so they are similar to the 2013s.

Thank you to Blue Knight, Scotty and JT for steering me straight!! Just to make sure I am heading down the right path, I am planning to purchase and have installed BajaRon's anti-sway bar and the Elka shocks. I trust these items will still improve the overall ride of 2013 RTs even though the suspension geometry has been changed for this model year?

IIRC Ron does not have a sway bar for the 2013's but I see Lamont has done something to his. I also don't think that Elka has come out with a shock for the 2013's. Looks like their web site compatablity chart is missing the 2012's...

Thanks again for the info!! Yesterday I received an e-mail from Ron in answer to my inquiry about anti-sway bars for 2013 RTs. He said that he had just mounted his prototype bar on the 2013 the previous evening. Hope all goes well with his test ride(s) and that he is ready for production soon. I am on his notification list when they do come available. I haven't a clue as to the planned availability status of the Elka shocks for the 2013 model year.

I Have an STS and Ron said he wasn't making sway bars for the 13s because BRP is making one that would compare to his for less money then he could make them for! Don't know about the RTs

I'm sure I will be adding Elka's on my next budget opening... I wanted to add them when I got the BajaRon swaybar and the relocators at Pitbull but I had already broken my budget and didnt want to go further into the hole.... lol

Unless you are or are planning to be super aggressive in the twisties, I'd save my money. Your 2012 RT shocks are pretty good (maybe set them on 4 or 5 for stiffer handling) and with your new Ron Bar you should be set up really well for good handling. I was going to have the relocator brackets installed at Pitbull's as well but changed my mind after talking with someone way smarter than me on what each component of our suspension system does and it's effect on the "ryde". Decided I was happy with the way my RT handled and opted to save the ~$190.

Best of luck with what you decide to do.

I think we talked to the same person!!!! Thanks JThorton for the installation page, and Sarge707 comment on "One at a time". Sway bar is the least expensive and most effective according to "experts" so start with that. For some reason reading these forums make you want to "Get It ALL" We don't want to miss anything do we? So when can we be satisfied??????

It's hard to say when anyone will be satisfied as it just depends on your reference mark. I also have a 2009 GL1800 that I love to drive as well as the Spyder. I would do the same thing over again as before, change the sway bar and evaluate then if I wanted more I'd go with the shock relocation kit. For the price you can't beat these two additions. The Elkas are a harder decision to make as the cost is considerable compared to the sway bar and the relocation kit. That is a decision only you can make. I'm glad I put them on my spyder but YMMV.

I was wondering about this...I own a 2012 RT and test road the 2013 ST at Spyderfest. Since they took us on a long ride including high speed hwy I was very impressed with how straight it tracked and how stable it was compared to mine. Pitbull did the shock relo kit for me while I was there and I've noticed a definite improvement akin to the 2013 test ride. In fact, it was VERY windy here yesterday and the RT tracked like it was on rails. An excellent upgrade!!

reloctor nightmare

i had the reloctors put on at pittbull spyderfest and it was a nightmare.....after they got them on i went to leave and the check engine light came on.....did go to gas station and checked oil....then to vendor village and check engine light kept coming on....said something to lamont and with a laugh he said it was coincidetal that this was happening....so back to pittbull i go and after len bounces the front ent of my rt...he told me to just go ahead and ride it for the day for check engine light doesn't mean all that.....well i think it does when the screen turns orange it means something.......so i check for codes and it says something about the air intake system.....so i tell the BRP tech...and finally they hook up the computer....he thinks i have pinched wire......so he takes the frunk off and sure enough....a group of 4 pinched wires in with the relocator.....not only did pittbull mechanics do the work but i have a picture working on the side that the problem was.....so he repaired the wires and all was well....and yes the handling around the curves is great....seems to just melt into those curves....but then when i arrived home i see on the right side by the shock this black hose hanging down, and on the left side i see a group of wires hanging down....so i take the tuperware off and for the life of me i cannot figure out how the air intake hose fits back up into the correct position after the relocator is installed....it DOES NOT FIT....and it almost had a hole in the hose from being pinched up against the air valve....so i had to zip tie it up and i also did the wires on the other side....:banghead::banghead::banghead:......just to unorganized at spyderfest......

I installed my relocators and there was not any loose wires in the area of the relocators. I wonder if during some other service someone left something loose?

The best you can say is it was organized madness trying to service 4 times the amount of people that was possible with the crew they had. They did damn good in my book.

I disagree...trying to service 4 times the amount of people that was possible with the crew they had resulted in disappointed and unhappy customers. I know because I was one of them!

I don't think they had much choice on how many showed up trying to get things installed.
