• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I think it would be great, especially for riders like me who have not reached the point of taking 7 to 10 hour trips to another state(hopefully next year though for Spyder fest). The only catch would be finding a good neutral spot and a GOOD planning committee that has some ideal of what it will take to pull it off on a small budget. Bottom line is it can be great for the visitors but a lot of work for the organizers.

It could just start out as a one day event. I would think a location in the center of the state that has the most scenic roads would be a start and a committee with representative from different parts of the state.

It's not central, but flamingobabe is hosting a BBQ over Memorial Day Weekend just south of Houston. Search for her post for details.

:yes:Luchenbach or Mason or Llano or Marble Falls or Blanco or Garner State Park!:joke: I'm shooting for the memorial day deal in Houston, but still trying to decide if I'm brave enough for Houston Memorial Day Weekend Traffic! :popcorn:We'd make them vendors come from FAR away! if they would...:2excited::chill::bbq::chat::trike:

My wife and would be interested..

New to Spyder riding but would love to see something in the Texas area as well.. Shooting to also make the Memorial Day weekend BBQ as well..

dont know what we could do to help put such a thing together, but would be more than happy to help in some way... Pending date decided on and being free from my job of course.. Mostly off on weekends though. :)

Fredricksburg has a lot of VFW stuff going on and may be willing to include some help with setting up an event if some VFW member contacts them.

Fredericksburg is a GREAT Hub!!!!! lots of fine riding to be had...
Good motel/hotels in the area, good German eating!!!! lot's of FUN!!!! we go there a few times a year, and have a Valkyrie ride-in there.

Sounds great and I will help if needed. One idea from spyderfest that would make it great is to enlist a dealer at the central location to help sponsor it.

I am sorry many of you folks missed the Texas Trike Reunion, April 4-6, held in Kerrville. It was open to all three wheelers however, not just Wings, Spyders or Tri Glides (we had all three). We had over fourty trikes and all had a good time and lots of riding west of K'ville. This was our fifth TTR. Past info is still posted here several months back. I will be glad to give you some ideas to kick around if needed. We kept it simple with NO vendors or sales booths....ya can get into insurance, location problems for vendors and other costs.....and we charged nothing to meet, eat and ride. We kept it as simple as possible.

Fredricksburg is a natural central hill country location

I think Fredricksburg is a great choice for size, hotels, location and roads and scenery. If other states can do it Texas surely can.

We can talk more about this idea.We need to get a committee together, Anyone from the Hill Country area want to help? I think a good staging place would be Frio canyon motorcycle Stop.

Fredericksville is a great Central area

I love that area and try to go there as much as possible 20 Miles from Kerrville and a full day of the three sister ride is do-able. But alas I can not make it till Jan we will be there all winter. Vist my sisters store on 410main st (The Amish Wharehouse) I can not wait to get there in late fall.
Wish it were sooner.
