• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

I already have a go-pro but I figured I would order this anyway to try, nice to have two camera views running at the same time for editing together later and for that price I'm almost tempted to but two. One facing forward one facing backwards and go-pro on helmet.

Be careful, it's not waterproof like the Go Pro

I have a first Gen GoPro Hero. I have tried several time to do the software upgrade to no avail. It would allow me to put in a 4 Gig card instead of the 2 Gig card.

I tried out in Blue Springs in Santa Rosa, NM on the way back from Durango last Summer.
Worked pretty good underwater. But it's limited in what it will do. No HD!

I'm on my way to Best Buy to pick up the Drift camera I just ordered just in time for SpyderFest!

Comes with a sticky mount only ordered today so don't know what mounts are like until they arrive. They have a standard tripod thread underneath so could do ram mount but I would prefer discrete mounting. One of those grab the deal while you can if they don't work out return them but worth a try there quite popular.

The instructions said to charge it using the USB cord for 2 hours.
So, I looked up to see what the voltage is of a iPad 2. 3.8 volts. The Drift's battery is 3.7 volts.
I took the charger for my iPad 2 and unplugged the iPad cord. Plugged in the cord for the Drift and it's now charging. No charger came in the box.
 
Picked mine up at Best Buy, be sure to get "micro SD cards". Don't ask how i know that SD cards are too D%#N big. I will exchange the cards tomorrow.

The MicroSDHC PNY brand 32 GB, 10 MB/s write speed was on sale for $29.99 so I got one for the Drift. Also go the same as a 8MB to go into my Megellen eXplorist 650 GPS on sale for $12.99.
 
Anyone have charging issues

I received my drift HD 720 today, I have charging issues on both.

Battery is in the right way round, I have tried in both computer usb and iPad usb charger. As you plug the lead in the blue light flashes for a split second and then nothing.

It will turn on and work on usb power, the unit as to be off to charge. The battery is not charged as the unit won't power on with out the usb in.

I send an email to support via the support site, interestingly on their facebook page there are many others having this issue as well but no solution posted.

Not too worried, worse scenario I return to Best Buy, But I did want them to work.
