• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

just HAD to be an online conversation though with plenty of :(:ohyea::yes::clap::joke: graphics

I have talked to dealer. They are sending the steering u-joint via Saturday delivery. The tech is going to have the bike torn down and awaiting the part. As soon as the get it installed and tested I will pick it up. I also spoke to natasha at brp today. I told her that I would be happy with a warranty extension for the bike as compensation for my downtime. She said that sounded agreeable. I will let everyone know tomorrow night how these events actually work out.

I hope everything works out for you in the best possible way. Sounds like the Warranty extension would be a great idea for you.......it could save you some big money at a later point. Good luck!!!!!

What a roller coaster of a thread!!!!.........Just a note on alignments..when I worked at a BMW dealership, the technicians had to load the car, front and back seats, with a determined number of sandbags to set the alignment..These were bags that were purchased from BMW...Its been a long time, but I believe it was 250 lbs in front seat and same in back seat..

Actually; it was human to human... :yikes:
I felt as if I was visiting with somebody who really LIKES her job, is very interested in what we're experiencing out here in the real World, and LOVES her Spyder...
2012 Red RS-S...
Natasha... you still owe me a couple of pictures!

It must be a long winter for people to jump on a person because of his picture.;)

Now that someone has brought this side thread up. I had a conversation with spydee and he is thinking of leaving the site over the couple of people that protested his avatar. He has been on the site for a long time (June 2009), and there have been no complaints about it.

To quote another: Just sayin

:agree: I did not see anything wrong. You see a lot worse on tv or in Walmart !:yikes: First thing I thought when I saw it was "nice job"! JMHO. By the way glad the OP is finally getting some action as that is really what this thread is about!

I was one of those "couple"? so I'll respond to your post.

No one wants him to leave. If he chooses to do so that would be unfortunate.

As to the art and its comparison to that which was painted on aircraft in WWII.

BIG difference!

The pin up art from the war can be viewed out in the open just about anywhere because it represents a time of great peril in this country's history. Generally what's seen on display is the more tasteful creations from that time.

The art he displayed on his spyder (in my opinion) would be more akin to what you would find for sale 'with a jacket/cover over it' on a magazine rack where such magazines are purchased. No need to spell out which magazines I'm referencing.

As far as what's seen on TV today or at Wal Mart for that matter only goes to shows how morally bankrupt we have become as a society.

Call me a prude if you want but I see myself as someone who wants to try to preserve some of the values that were once important in this country.

That's all I have to say on this matter. Other than, I hope NO ONE leaves.

Jer

:agree: with what you say also. Let's not hijack the thread any further. No matter what someone says or does, it is likely someone will be offended. I have tried to adopt a live and let live policy. Sometimes I even succeed. There are and have been other avatar and signature pictures that some may criticize. My feeling is to let them be. The Administrator will take care of any needing correction.

I dropped my map signature because people did not think where I had been was pure enough for the :ani29: purists. They got into spyder only, motorcycle only, cars don't count, etc. etc. It was not worth arguing about IMO.

Has anybody else noticed that Spring is right around the corner?

Do we really need to get into a "tinkling" match over avatars? If something offends you, a simple PM might be an easier way to deal with it...
I never noticed his picture; but then an awful lot of mine are probably questionable too...
So let's get back to what's going on at Rabtech's house with his bike...
Thanks!

Suppose this could have been said in a PM just as easily as it was said here. But it wasn't.
