When I traded in the old RT and bought my 2012 RT Limited I also upgraded my IPod to the new Touch 32 Gb so I would be able to expand the music library when riding.
During the good weather I rode every day and never noticed whether the IPod turned itself off. Now that the colder weather is here I am not riding for two or three days in a row and a couple of times I found the IPod was totally drained of power when I went to start the Spyder. It appears as though it is not powering down when I shut off the Spyder like the Garmin GPS does.
A few questions if someone knows the answers:
- Should I be turning the IPod on manually or should the device turn on when the Spyder starts?
- Should I select the music icon or just leave it alone? (This new IPod has a lot more choices of icons than the old one).
- Should I have to turn it off manually or is the IPod (or the Spyder) just not working right?
I am plugging in with the correct Aux connecting wire into the switched outlet on the right side of the rear compartment and all connections are solid.
No one at the dealership is much help on this and so far the folks at spydertechsupport haven't responded.
