• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

No more radial nerve in my right arm (mc accident 3 years ago) and I cannot handle heavy touring biked two up... So we bought a RT for vacations/touring ...

Harley rider - then major back surgery
Docs told me that if I want to continue in the 2 wheel sport, I need to get a 3 wheeler.
Have always liked the Spyders and I trust 2 wheels in front of me, way more than behind me.
All I gotta say is, "I LOVE MY SPYDER !!"

After I retired, I wanted to start riding and determined 3 wheels would be the quickest and safest way for my wife and I to ride together. After much homework, I determined the Spyder would be the best. We got a 2011 RT Limited and love it!

Why my wife bought me my first Spyder

Five years ago I had to have a kidney transplant. My wife gave me a kidney :2thumbs: :firstplace:. 2-1/2 years ago she walks up behind me while I just happened to be reading about the Spyder. We never had even talked about getting a Spyder or two wheel bike for that matter. She just said "I supose you want one of those". I told her how they seem to be fairly safe and she just came out and said why don't you get one. Wow, first a kidney and now a Spyder , what a wife! Now I'm hooked! With all my meds and their side effects I don't think I would want a two wheeler but the Spyder has worked out great with 25000 miles total now.

Awesome story! :2thumbs:
(My Missus is coming up on the seventh anniversary of her kidney transplant; it also played into us deciding that it was "Now, or Never"!)

My wife and I had talked about a trike, we had never ridden before. In the summer of 2011 we decided on a whim to attend a local motorcycle safety course as walk-ins. Well to our surprise we both got into the class. During the 3 day course the instructors were adamant about new riders not attempting to ride two up for at least a few years of experience. After the 3 day course we received our class M endorsement and decided to test drive the Sypder so we could feel comfortable riding two up. The rest is history. We did revisit our instructor this past summer during his class and he remembered us and simple said "you two made a good choice."

WHY I BOUGHT MY SPYDER

My dream was to own my own motorcycle before I turned 60.I was born missing my right arm.Knew I needed a 3 wheel for more stability.Didn"t want to trike a 2 wheel bike that would look like I was putting training wheels on.Harley trikes were to large for me.Then I found my Spyder.Perfect for me felt very comfy and safe sitting on it.Next question was how was I going to operate the throttle missing my right arm.Where I purchased my Spyder suggested I went to a shop that converts vehicles for the handicap.I never considered myself handicap but if they could come up with a plan I would be on my way with my motorcycle. They installed a gas pedal on the left side for me and disconnected the throttle. When I purchased my Spyder in 2010 there was 11 miles on.Now I am over 30,000 miles.Ride my Spyder everywhere.Love the freedom.

Fell in love with it the first time I saw it at a dealership in 2007. Took the demo ride 3 different times and knew I would have to have one. Took me 5 yrs after that first sight to finally pull the trigger but here we are :spyder2:

Spyders......... Helping you to get lucky since 2008 !!!!!!!!

64+ .. one foot in the grave and the other on a banana peel.. just need to break a 50 year motorcycle habit.. like putting my feet down everytime I stop

I bought my:spyder2:because i can not ride motorcycles because I am a little person and the :spyder2:gave me the chance to ride the open road and besides that they are DAMN cool.

My five year anniversary is November 1st. They removed my native kidneys due to internal bleeding right after Spyderfest 2. I delayed the operation until after Spyderfest, you have to have your priorities right.

Congratulations on the transplant. I had mine over 5 years ago (July 31, 2006) and my big brother was my donor.

We all just need to start our own "Transplant Club". :2excited:
:clap::clap:

A stroke in 09 left me with several medical issues, plus a balance problem. That brought 36 years of motorcycling fun to an abrupt halt. I kept my bike for 2 years in the hope that my balance would improve. It didn't, so I sold my bike and bought a Spyder where balance issues aren't as important. It keeps us on the touring highway and we are enjoying what our RT is doing for us.

Do I wish I could go back to 2-wheels? You bet!

The wife and I saw a Spyder about four years ago at Johnson's Shut In's State Park, fell in love with it, and since the wife won't ride a two-wheeler with me, after a long wait (4 years) we went shopping. Wound up at Cowtown, and really thankful we did. We have enjoyed it very much, the wife feels safe on it, and a happy woman makes a happy man.... We are missing a lot of good riding weather because "Making Memories" is in the shop. Waiting for a new engine.:banghead:
