• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Myself.

Hello there, name's Buster - but that user name is already taken- Been a biker all my life but a near fatal accident last year ended up with me not being able to ride a two wheeler (yet!), so after a few months being confined to a car I was introduced to the Spyder.

I finally got my freedom back!

I use it all the time - basically hate cars.

I came across the forum whilst researching tyres and found a whole raft of good info on here.

Hopefully I'll be able to give as much as I take from the forum.

I'm a retired submariner, (27 yrs) who now looks after the Royal Navy's Vanguard class submarine simulator.

Living near to Glasgow, Scotland I am looking forward to getting involved in the forum in any way I can, you do seem like quite a friendly and well informed bunch.

Buster.

Hi Buster!
Welcome to the Family! :ohyea::yes::ohyea: :2thumbs:
I'm sorry to hear that all of this needed to be the result of an accident; I guess that this must be the silver lining in the raincloud for you...

Welcome! You've probably seen it all already, but there must be some beautiful riding around your neck of the world... One place I'd love to visit some day.

Dave,

You have some pretty nice riding pretty close to you too. I am originally from Winston-Salem and still have family there and in Charlotte. I haven't been able to get up there and go through the mountains yet but do want to.

Teddy & I would like to say Congrats on the New Ryde & Welcome to the SpyderHood

:congrats: & :welcome:

Thought we'd post a few links to some great threads full of useful info for newer Spyder Owners like yourself:clap:

http://www.spyderlovers.com/forums/...t-Do-s-and-Do-Nots-quot-for-new-Spyder-owners

Its also a good idea to update your profile by adding a Signiture Line with the year and model Spyder you have, along with any mods you've added to your New Ryde
That way, anytime you ask a question, you won't have to keep retyping that info everytime
and we won't have to ask for it to better help you find your answers;)

What are signatures?
'Signatures' contain information that you want to include at the bottom of all your posts. This might include pictures, links to your site(s), quotes, etc.
What are avatars?
Avatars are small images that people use to identify or distinguish themselves to other forum members. In some cases the administrator will not allow avatars or only allow them for specific members. The administrator can also provide some stock avatars people can use, or they can allow members to upload their own custom avatars from their own computers. These avatars will be displayed as part of the user info in posts, as well as in the public profile.
What are profile pictures?
Profile Pictures are photos members can upload that will display in their public member profile. This option may or may not be enabled by the administrator.
How do I set signatures, avatars and profile pictures?
You can set and change your signature, avatar and profile picture in the User Control Panel (providing the administrator has made these options available).
For signatures, click on 'Edit Signature' under the 'Settings and Options' area of the navigation bar within the User CP.
To select an existing or upload a new avatar, click on 'Edit Avatar'.
To upload a profile picture, click on 'Edit Profile Picture' in the 'Your Profile' section.

:yes:Welcome to the SpyderHood & most of all, ENJOY THE RYDE!:thumbup:

And thanks for the welcome.. all.

So, you spend time now, or did spend some time in Faslane? As an old boomer sailor myself I "Loved the Loch" And welcome aboard!

Welcome, Buster!:welcome: Boy, did you come to the right place. :2thumbs: I'm pretty new here, myself, and I'm finding out there's so much to learn.

I have been to Scotland a couple of times and loved it besides all the history and the beautiful views, I was introduced to sliding down the heather, haggis, and hairy cows! I sure hope I can go back again someday.

Welcome and congrats Buster. There is a good bunch of us here that would rather be on "two" and are thankful to at least be on "Three" and not in a cage...:yes::bowdown:

Thanks all, once again for the great welcome.:D

Yep, been in Faslane for 90% of my life, in fact I'm still there, that's where my trainer is. Still love the place..:doorag:

A good bit of my career was on fast attack boats loved it! Then I got conscripted bombers, didn't like them that much, wasn't into the time-share thing, still they got me a fair few visits to your side of the pond, even did a spot of sea time on USS Alaska as part of the SP205 team.

:welcome: to our "web" and :congrats: on your Spyder. I was in your part of the world in the late 60's when I was in the Air Force. Had a great time!
