• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

UPDATE - Custom Performance Anti-Sway Bar for the RT

My suggestion would be to have a standard color of black (satin, gloss, etc). This way the buyer can paint it themselves to whatever color they wish.

What Summit Racing sells

In the Summit Racing catalog, or on their web, the sway bars are powder coated red or black.

Either one is ok with me, just in case someone cares what I think. We raised 4 daughters, so I'm use to being ignored with the vote 5 to 2. My wife makes the 5th and my only son makes the 2 - he's also use to being ignored.

Color?

If it is down to color, do you have one ready, but raw (no color) that you would sell allowing the purchaser to put their own color on? I do my own powder coating.

J.D,
Soooo.... If they were available raw... how much "convincing" would you need to lay some custom spray down on one for a fellow Spyderlover?

How about offering raw ones also? That way we could have them painted any color we want!

Hhhmmmmm.... And I heard that all you RT guys were stodgy old... Well, stodgy. But this idea id definitly outside the box and might have some legs (or bars, as it where).

I'll check with my supplier and see what he says about it. Don't see why not except that I'd assume these will rust at some point.

sway bar for RT

Black to match the suspension & chassis. I wouldn't think about anything
that would make people think it might come from el--.
my vote should count TWICE.

Paint doesn't hold that great on a torsion bar. The powder coating is a better idea. I wouldn't buy a bare one myself.

How to Identify New Sway-Bar Permanently

What about marking it physically (stamped or engraved with model (RTS) and size (15mm))? This way there can NEVER be an issue with which sway-bar is the improved/modified one versus stock.

No question that the bar would need to be powder coated. The idea being the individual could have it coated whatever color they wanted. Though this could also be done to a bar that was coated as well. My concern would be that someone would put a bare bar on their Spyder and then tell someone that it came from me! :yikes:

I was kind of afraid of that same thing...
Unless... Some sort of arrangement could be made when somebody buys a bare one; it gets shipped to the powdercoater of choice, who works out the billing with the buyer of the bar??

:agree:

So J.D...... :dontknow: :bbq:

I'd have to see one to come up with a firm price. My oven isn't real large, however I do use an ultra violet heater on some larger items. The shipping would be a consideration also. Powder coating isn't too difficult on most parts, the prep of the part is very important. Check out Eastwood Company.

The size of my Sway Bar will be identical to the OEM bar as far as any powder coating process is concerned.

OR MAYBE ....

Chrysler Orange....That might be cool on an Orbital Blue RTS!

Well....after the frunk is removed and you can sctually see what color the darn thing is!
