• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Headlights: Other than HID lamps, is there another 'bright' bulb option?

I just installed a set of HID units from DDM Tuning. Check them out. The cost?
$40 for the set.
Funny, it took two days to be drop shipped from China to NY, then almost two weeks to get to me. Those customs people are so much fun. ;)
I have two sets in my Tundra for both the headlights and fog lights. I'm not paying $400 for HIDs.

I got the 35 watt units at 6000 Kelvin. That way they are a little more than white, just a slightly blue tinge.

Being "Night-Blind", I am always looking for a way to throw some more lumens downrange...
Thanks for all of this info! Now I just have to get it all straight in my head... :opps:

I installed the HIDs on my RT. In a year and a half I have replaced a ballast and a lamp. I went with Ebay $40 sets. Ended up buying two sets. The lighting itself is great. I bought the 6000k. Not quite into the blue spectrum.

We have had some pretty good feedback from customers that have installed the Osram Nightbreaker Plus bulbs. These bulbs are made in Germany and are DOT compliant. I am not saying that they will be as bright as an HID upgrade however the feedback has been very good considering this bulb is rated at the same wattage as stock.

Steve

I will hit you up next time (wife might want to replace hers, plus she's looking into fog lights).

I'm sure I can get you a discounted price in exchange for your time =) It will definitely help people that are on the fence about upgrading their headlights and/or fog lights with performance halogen bulbs.

Let me know,

Steve

Steve- do you know if these are white or blue/white. I also put LED fender lights on yesterday and now my headlights look really yellow. I don't think I'd mind a little blue since i have aqua Gloryders and plans for more blue or white lights in the future.

Thanks! My wife (Dentin028) sent you a PM today regarding some fog lights.

Rachel,

They will have a super white colour to them. Be careful with blue coated bulbs as typically they produce less actual light output given the blue coating.

bullant12: Awesome! I will check and reply. Thanks =)

I have head lights and fog lights and I am in the same boat. LED Halos around them, LEDs on the fenders, LED white Tips, and YELLOW bulbs in the fogs / mains. Makes me El Saddo. That coupled with getting white LEDs for the arms out to the wheels like the OP, I would like to get some white love in the 4 "factory" slots so I dont look all "Jacked up on Mt. Dew".

I can attest to that. I put one of those in my wife's Vulcan to replace the dim, yellow looking original bulb. What a difference. Bright/white light. After 10,000 Km it was still like new when she traded in the Vulcan on her Spyder. We're adding a pair to the Spyder.

I will check them out. Thanks Steve

Do you happen to know which color bulb would be a similar match to the Osram? I'm also trying to match my led lights from Tricleds. So im looking for a white light not a blue or purple. They have an Ion Spark White, Mirror White, or a Night White.

Sweet! Hopefully you can post up some feedback once you get everything installed so that other members that are interested in this upgrade can get some more "unbiased" feedback =)
