• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Help: Can you identify these brackets?

I've found a pair of brackets under the front fascia, left hand side.

See photo. I've color-washed the brackets yellow to make them more obvious.

Together they obviously hold something about 4.5" wide.

Anybody know what the missing item is? :dontknow:

There is nothing attached to these on the stock Spyder RT. Obviously the engineers had something in mind, but until someone ends up with an option or accessory installed there, we will never know.

Hey! Maybe that's where the larger gas tank/ sixth gear/ better stereo with a CD & DVD player/ and cupholder will mount! :roflblack:

Thanks Scotty. I was looking to fit a Stebel Nautilus air horn. According to the fitting instructions the Nautilus should be mounted upright in both directions. I think the space between or near to the brackets is a good option. I'll try it, now that I know the space is good to go!

 What a great idea!:clap:

That's all it is so far, an idea...

But I'll appreciate some applause if it works out. And also maybe a fanfare or two, a Dixie band, a dozen cheer leaders and a crate of beer. Then I'll wake up and discover I'm down a rabbit hole with the Wicked Queen... Don't you just hate sad endings? ;)

If it works you're sure to earn at least a little bit of undying grattitude...

Speaking of grattittude, dude. Undying you say? What about the genius who invented the incandescent light bulb, you'd think gratitude would be undying in his case, yes? For being the first to bring light into the dark corners of life at the flick of a switch? Well, it turns out now that the creep was responsible indirectly for global warming and here in Europe we are all converting to mercury-filled light bulbs to save the planet. Do they realise or care how poisonous mercury is? Undying gratitude means gratitude for ever. For all time to come. Not gratitude only until your reputation is shredded on a whim by a bunch of scare-mongering egg-heads.

Tomorrow I will find a way to install my Nautilus. It contains no mercury. :joke:

Use for mounting bracket...

SOMEONE needs to come out with either a machine gun or rocket launcher to fit there, for those who pull out in front of you!

I've found a toot of my horn sufficient retribution but I'm riding in the Old Country, not the Wild West. ;)

It works! See my post with photos in the DIY Step-by-Step forum for fitting a Nautilus on the RT. I'm really pleased with this. :ohyea:
