Leah's March of Dimes Walk - Latest Update!
Last update before the walk - We are sitting at $3650. We have exceeded every goal set for our fund raising. Spyderlovers represent a little over half of that amount. :clap:
To put that amount in perspective, the 2nd highest fund raiser in NC last year raised just over $9k. He is part of a very large online gaming community and had over 1000 donors... I'm fairly confident that we will rank in the top ten fund raisers in the Charlotte area, and so far it looks like we are the highest on the Hospital team we belong to.
I'm off to Austin Texas today through Friday, and fly home Friday to get up for the walk early Saturday. Here are some new videos, and some pictures to digest. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!! for all your generosity and support, from the day she was born so premature to this walk.
She is just over 11 pounds now, and quite interested in everything.

Update #3 - Sitting at $2600.00. Do you guys realize that more than half of that is Spyder lovers? I love all the messages on Leah's page noting Spyderlovers!
Update #2: Well, I got of my plane in Rochester, NY to see that we had broken the $1000.00 goal. So, I got online, and donated my $500 as promised if we hit 1k... We are now at $1800.00 in less than 24 hours. You guys ROCK!
Update: You guys have already collectively pledged $350.00 One donation was so significant that my wife started to cry when I showed her (Ok... I did a little bit too). We are simply amazed at this little girl of ours that has managed to capture the heart of so many people. You guys are AWESOME! I may have to raise our goal from $1000 to $2000!
Hello everyone,
Some of you wanted to know when we had Leah's March of Dimes Walk donation page up, so I wanted to share it here.

We are walking with the Charlotte Presbyterian Children's Hospital team which has a goal of $20,000. We'll be joining many of the same nurses that took care of Leah (and us) for her 79 days in the NICU. The walk is on April 30th and that is why you won't see me at Spyderfest. (Yes Doc... I know I can ride 900 miles in a day and get back to the walk on time!
)
Our goal is $1000. I've made a simple pledge as part of that. I will donate any amount short of $1000 to reach that goal. If we reach $1000, I will donate $500 on top of it. Leah already has $190 donated as I write this. She has another $100 donated via checks that I need to find a way to log on the site.
You all have been so generous with your kind thoughts, phone calls, and prayers as we went through our stay at the hospital. That alone is enough and I can't tell you how much it meant to us. My wife wonders what we do when we get together on our spyders as she has a hard time comprehending the concept of the "Spyder community" and spyderlovers.com!
My intent is not to spam you guys with this. Everyone has worthwhile causes near and dear to their hearts. This one is admittedly the first one that I've felt so drawn to.
Thank you for those of you that want to donate at the link above. For those that can't, your thoughts and prayers have been more than enough since day one! I really hope I can find a way for you guys to meet her someday.
