• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. Back from Chicago-Safe and sound!

Just had to put another 50 miles on the Spyder after getting back home today as the trip ended up just a bit too short for me......:D

:congrats: Way to go Dan!

I put on 500 miles last weekend and 1000 miles this weekend,
I am on a roll :yes::ohyea::yes::ohyea::yes::ohyea::yes::ohyea::yes::ohyea:

After our last fuel stop, I knew you were going to do that!!!

BTW..."SomeGirl" and I had no rain the rest of the way home. (but we missed some really heavy downpours by just a few minutes nojoke )

We were soaked all the way threw :(

Len, it was fun and what an adventure it was, several first time experience for me! Except for the heat, which got the better of me :(

Not the least of which was being escorted home by deeply tanned shirtless men. :)

Hey now...this is supposed to be a family friendly site!!! ;)

I do consider all my spyderlover friends "family". What is more "friendly" than shirtless men? :roflblack:

Got home around 1am last night, er, this morning. Thanks for a great time, I really enjoyed meeting everyone, and I hope to see you soon!

Harry

left the hotel Jim and I should have stayed at around 820, made it to dirt town 668 miles later at 526pm this is with the vss relay working lose 25 miles west on hwy 12, then the downpour where van ahead of me are pulling off and you could not see 50 yards at the speed limitish, 4 gas stops and getting pulled over for passing a car at about 109 and then realizing that it was a tribal officer was east bound so after pulling me over and telling me that I had some one complaining about me 10 miles east of were we at and she gunned me at 77 mph which says a TON for the iscu hand brake with my roommates mod on it.

SO of course another cop showed up who knew who I was so writen warning and have a nice day sir.

saw 1 other spyder going SB on hwy 12.

IT was awsome meeting everyone who makes up the spyderlover crazy disfunctional family of people who are making the spyder world a better place.

...The only thing worse for the wear is my iphone from all the bonking and bumping.

:roflblack:

It was great hanging out with you guys Saturday night. My "not wanting to spend $35 a plate" for dinner turned into that after we bought $20 worth of ice cream. :D It was good.

G-Man & BumbleBee are home too :2thumbs:

JOE!!!
"A BIT OF A RAIN"!!? What you thought was a bit of a rain!

It was a torrential downpour! Rained so hard we couldn't see 5 feet in front of us! We had to pull off to the side of the freeway till we could see well enough to ryde to the rest stop. And in addition to that, the rain was mixed with hail. :yikes: Like being stung by a thousand BumbleBees! Not to mention the stress of possible damage to MY precious spyder!
I did have sympathy for you guys, when Len sent the pictures of everyone soaking wet it made me feel bad. Out of loyalty to my riding buddys I took a picture of me being soaked by the lawn sprinkler and sent it back. Len did not get the picture till last night which as an after thought was probably a good thing, since I would not want him to see it at 80MPH. Glad every one make it home safe an had fun.

We left the hotel at 7:00 the storm chased us.... caught us in Toledo with high winds and rain (we were crusing at 75-80) ....ESI passed us on the pike caught up with them at a rest stop.....told us this story ... someone in the ESI group said look at the lights on that car!!!!! thats no car its a Spyder with our lights and day runners.(a special thanks to ESI we felt safe knowing we could be seen in a down pour)

Had a great time see you all at the next event....:2thumbs:

Home, well most of the way. Got to NC with a ton of rain, very high winds, lightning, drowned out Spyder, half of my lights working. Man, was that a fun trip. Now off for about 3 hrs of sleep and then another 650 miles to deliver my truck and fly back to Nc for the Spyder. Forrest and I bailed out for about a 5-6 hr rest because of the flooding rains. Nice meeting up with everyone again. Lets do it again next weekend:2thumbs::2thumbs::2thumbs:

Be safe...at least your bike is in one piece. :D

Love the Spyder

You weren't kidding when you said you were leaving real early. Glad you had a sage trip home and stayed basically dry. It was great meeting you and I am so glad you contacted us. I hope you got lots of great ideas to make your spyder fit your 6'6" frame better and to make it more comfortable for you both. Also, now that you have a couple hundred miles or so on it :D how do you like you? Are you getting more used to the handling? What mods did you see that you like best and want to change first?

Hy Deb, we love the Spyder and are getting comfortable with it. I ordered the handlebar risers and the mirror extentions today. We are also looking at a custom seat, leaning towards Russell. Had a Great Time
Thanks

Finally got to tell you all about our special adventure,, so Len, Mike and I where about 50 miles from home, we had just made our last stop and said our "Good Byes",, while pulling back on the interstate we noticed a single spyder traveling ahead of us, and well you know Len, we picked it up a bit only to find out it was the person that won the 1,000.00 certificate from BRP with the Red White and Blue Spyder,, as we all went along and passed him and give the old Thumbs Up sign he was having nothing of that so he stuck with us right on our tail passing a couple of us and fitting right in the middle of our formation, as Len exited shortly after we all waved to him while he was exiting,---then onto the next exit place where Mike would get off and that is Rolla, I had planned to pull over with him but after we meet up with the (Lets just call him) the "Best in Show Guy" I stayed on the interstate in hopes that he would exit before I would and I could
send Congrads to him, well just so be it he exited about 3 miles from where I needed to go so I then pulled over with him and we sat and talked for about an hour, I have to tell you (I am sure that some of you talked to him as well,,) He and his wife are a GREAT couple and I'm sure we will see him on Spyderlovers, he said he would check the site out but I'm sure in the next couple of week's we will hear from him,,, It was very nice talking to him about his Spyder and what it all means to him... Sorry I can not remember him and his wifes name but again, I could tell that there are good people... I attempted to give him a card tell him the information about the Cuba Spyder Fest but he informed me that some OLD GUY with a BEARD had already gave him one in Chicago,I wonder who that might be Gene??? Anyway, he re-assured me that he will be there next year.. Just thought I'd let you all know incase you didn't have much time to talk to them.. Actually one of my highlights of the trip happened within miles of me actually getting home..

Hey Joe, I met him at the Mansion and he is a great guy. Did he show you in inscription on the yoke of his handlebars? He is quite the patriot. A real pleasure to meet him.

Well my wife says she'll take responsibility for that. :shemademe_smilie: Spyder grips do smell like crablegs though.
