• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Good News, Bad News

Well, my motor is back together and ready to drop in my spyder, that is the good news. The bad news is that when they ordered the gasket kit there were no exhaust gaskets in there and so now they have those ordered now. Should be here by the weekend and everything back together sometime next week. The true test, how will it run. They are going to flush the coolant system and clean it all up. My best guess is 3 weeks out, not next week, why not make it 5 months...Grrrrr

I am pretty sure for future service, we will check out Ray C's in Lapeer, it is actually closer to our home anyway.

Good for you! I am glad they finally got off their butts and got to work on your :spyder: Just think, you'll be ryding soon!

Well Deb you have pasted the patience test for sure. I would have been livid by now. Hope you get your ryde back real soon - just think with every day that passes the ryde days will be better as the warmer weather starts to get here.
Keep the Faith

Hopefully they will get the exhaust gaskets quickly. Would these happen to be the same ones Lamont and others have said you can get for a Goldwing 1800? Perhaps that is another option to look at. :dontknow:

Best of luck getting over the final hurdle.

Deb:

You are a saint. I was down for four weeks and couldn t take it. I hope that this is a done deal for you ..

Not a saint but more like a hostage. For the first month and a half, I just believed that everything was on back order, then as I called to check things out and found they had to tear the whole engine down, it just got worse. What was I going to do at that point, they had my spyder in pieces and my dealer had never let us down before. Just before Christmas, I started getting mad and making more phone calls. I have talked to the service manager, to the assistant manager and to the owner. Carlo has called twice. I am kind of at their mercy right now. My engine is back together and once again, I am waiting for a part. I do not blame this wait on BRP, the service dept should have know or looked at what I needed in advance and had everything there and ready when time for reassemble. I am mad right now, but also not in a position to do anything. I do know that if they get it all back together and there is anything at all slightly not working right, you will not see the same Deb that you have seen sit for the past 4 months.

Argh...that long, eh? Maybe we can get Deb into skiing to burn off some of the winter months? It works for me!

I haven't skied in 20 years. Heck I still have old skis up in the rafters in the garage, don't think they are even useful anymore...LOL I am keeping busy, but I do miss riding.

Keeping my fingers crossed for you. Next you can start the second phase of Brian's (BJT's) saga. Both Spyders out of service for that very long is just too much to bear. You are the most patient and kind people I have ever known.

I absolutely mean NO disrespect = Remember what Leo D always said,

NICE GUYS FINISH LAST :(

.....but they don't have ulcers! :roflblack:

It's correct because the nice guys always have something sticking out their backsides :yikes: :roflblack:

The "squeeky wheel gets the grease" saying has not been around so long because it's not true.

Best wishes headed your way that your wait is truly about to be over. I hope that Brian's is right behind on the to be resolved and returned list.

I am glad that it appears you are near the end of the tunnel. I am hoping it is the RIGHT END you are approaching!

But there is something VERY WRONG with this story. An entire engine could have been fabricated from raw materials in this length of time. If we'd have known it would go this way we would have sent NMN up to knock some heads right off the bat! :yikes:

The story stinks and it is too bad that you or anyone else should have to suffer this kind of wait. There is no rational excuse for what your dealer has been shoveling.

Your patience and loyalty are beyond understanding. Hope to ride with both of you again!
