Considering getting a left over 2025 Sea to Sky with the “Improved” tires. Now that they have been out, what is the feeling of them from those in the know?
It is my understanding, and I could be wrong here, that some are getting the new tires, and some are not. This happened a few years ago with the Kenda Kanine for a time. Not sure why. You'd think they would all have the same rubber.
OH MY!You could be correct, but my mechanic told me that the tires for the 24+ models were new XPS tires were designed to work with the upgrades to the VSS. He also said that they are not backward compatible. If he is correct, I do not think that BRP would ship the new bikes without XPS tires installed. My dealer had ordered a bunch of them before he found out that BRP said they should not be used on '23 and older bikes. He sent most of them back. I do not know if BRP will update the VSS on older bikes to work with the new XPS tires.
OH MY!
I am afraid that this sounds like a heavy load of BS! I am continually amazed at what dealerships will try to shovel onto their customers.
Both the general manager and the mechanic are good friends of mine. I know that they did not make this up. In the over 10 years I have been doing business with the dealership they have never steered me wrong.OH MY!

I am glad you added this and I am very sorry if I offended. I know my reply was harsh. Maybe they are great people. But there is more than one factor that points me in the direction I went. Both the general manager and the mechanic are good friends of mine. I know that they did not make this up. Imagine if Ford said you can only put Firestone tires on your Ford SUV!!!!!!I'll add my 2 cents! BRP has been putting Kendas on Spyders for about 17 years, give or take. Not one single one has been worth a crap! Not one, even though they've changed the name a couple or more times.
I have thrown away 5 of the crappy tires myself, even though they had lots of tread left!
The Vredesteins I replaced them with made a 100 percent change in the ride on two different Spyders, ESPECIALLY in the rain!
I don't know how anyone with common sense could defend them!
BRP could say "For us to make more money, only install Kenda tires, AGAIN AND AGAIN!"Actually the auto manufactures do make these kind of statements. Not on your everyday people haulers but on their performances vehicles they sometimes do. They don't come right out and say it but with statements like 'for best performance' or 'for the vehicle to perform as expected.'
The stock tires are working well, I do not know about how long they will last, but it is weird to look down a see the different tread pattern!! I will wear these out and put the same combo I had on my 2012! Vredesteins, and GeneralConsidering getting a left over 2025 Sea to Sky with the “Improved” tires. I have done that to my 2018 Spyders, and the newest one up in Washington will get the same when I see it in May.The stock tires are working well, I do not know about how long they will last, but it is weird to look down a see the different tread pattern!!
