• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

(Was Looking to buy... ) Now Have bought this 2017 RTL - Well she's mine!

Looks really good! I assume this is the one that the seller is riding it up to deliver it to you.

In my opinion, I think you made a great choice, but what do I know. Congratulations!

Well………..did you win it dmiles? Forget it………you did! Posted below. Congrats. Beautiful color!

Of the three you posted, the gold RT Limited would be my choice. I don’t really take mileage into consideration. In fact high miles would be a plus. It shows the bikes been ridden, the owner has confidence in it to take it on the road. I’ve seen a lot of older Spyders with very little mileage which begs the question why.

I would pass on the speaker bike, it’s just not my personal style. I’m a lot more conservative I suppose. And the Ryker? Well it’s a fun little critter. I had one for a year and put 12,000 miles on the clock. It just did not offer the refined ride I was looking for so I traded it in on a 2018 RT Limited.

And as far as the gold one is concerned. He’s willing to drive it 13 hours and park it in your driveway for an extra 2 Benjamins? In the real estate game, I think that’s what you call a motivated seller. Go gold!

To be honest, deep down I think I wanted the Ryker. But even though she wouldn't come right out and say it, she wanted the RT. She's a lot smarter than me, although I will say settling on the one she really wanted is not the dumbest move I've ever made.

Anywho, you can rest easy. If things don't work out I will blame her, not you. :roflblack:

We have had 3 RVs through the years, and for the most part, 100K is relatively unheard of. Seems to be a similar situation with most vehicles of a recreational nature. I did have someone who I consider very knowledgeable about these types of vehicles tell me that the ones with the lowest mileage are the ones to be most wary of. He brings up things like fuel problems of all sorts, etc. When I was in my twenties I bought a Honda 350 twin cylinder from a woman that was in the service. It had less than 500 miles, but the piston that had spent 99.9% of its life out of the oil had to have new rings, so I get it.

When I spoke with the guy, I told him he could keep the speakers, although if they are in fact Bluetooth, we may have been able to find a spot for them on our patio. It was a shame because it was so close to where I live.

To be honest, now that I've spoken with him over the phone, I think he was just wanting one last ride. I mean, how many of us have had bikes in the past that we would like one more ride on? Even my first one, a Honda Trail 70 would be a fun ride again. And when I saw what those were going for on eBay wow. But the biggest thing to me was the price. I've been looking for a long, long time. The best prices I have been able to find typically ran close to the last 2 numbers of the model year. 2014, 14K, 2019, 19K, etc. And the ones that didn't follow that convention were because they were higher in price, not lower. So a 2017 for 14K was by far the best deal I've seen yet. Had to jump on it.

I Love This 'Blue'.

Good advise for sure. Obviously the cost of the Ryker is a huge selling point, but still a tough decision. That's a great looking ride you have, I really like the color.

I had to wait for the 'Blue' to be available for sale at the 'Right Price'. I am hoping that BRP will bring this color back in do time. By 2023 or 2024 would be great.....

I suspect you're probably right. One last 13 hour hurrah. You might want to have a box of Kleenex ready when he shows up. :)

Dmiles, Congratulations on your new Spyder. :congrats: :welcome: Good choice on the 2017 RTL nice color. I have a 17 RTL I bought used, 1 owner in July 2020 with 5300 miles on it at a dealership in Illinois. Rode it home a 2hr ryde, first time on a Spyder except for the test ryde I did there. I learned a lot about the Spyder the hard way. I didn't know about Spyderlovers forum at the time. I have had nothing but joy from my Spyder. I have not had a single problem with my Spyder since I brought it home. I have over19300 miles on it now. Have just had the joy of ryding and adding farkles to my liking and I have added quite a few of them. If you need any advice on mods or installing anything, just let me know, I would be glad to help you out.
Ryde safe and enjoy the ryde.

Yep, he's been on the road already, and that is the case. He's enjoying the one last hurrah, and he says he's loving the scenery.

Good to know a fellow 17'er. Glad to hear it has gone so well. I like the color of yours, if I'm not mistaken, that color changes a good bit when it goes from bright to dark lighting. Thanks for the offer of advise, I might just take you up on that.
