There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. New Tires

I think I will be replacing front and rear this winter on my '13 ST. Looking at the Quatrac 5 from tire rack but don't see a 205-60R15. They do show a 205-50. I think that might throw off the suspension and speedometer. What about running that 205-65, might that crowd the fender a bit? I am running a 215-50 in another brand right now and that fits fine. I would like to stay with one brand and style.
As and aside, my rear shows the same center wear as pic above. Been running 19 PSI but will try 17 to see if I can even it up a bit.

Yes the 205/50-15 will be smaller ( than the OEM 225/50-15 ) but I don't think it will cause any issues. The 205/65-15, is very close to what most people have use ie. 215/60-15. …. But if you are still nervous the General Altimax RT43 come in 215/60-15 and that is a very, very good tire…….Mike :ohyea:

What is wrong with KUMHO ECSTA AST for a rear tire? It comes in the exact replacement size, tread pattern looks similar????

Where have you found the Altimax, I don't see that brand listed at either Tire Rack or Discount Tire?

Based on what users from this Forum have said …. Dry traction very good …. Wet traction good - however many have said the wet traction diminishes starting at about 15,000 mi..... IMHO the wet traction is the most important factor in a rear Spyder tire..... There are much better tires, priced similar, the rear tire does NOT have to be a 225/50-15 ….. ride happy -ride safe …. Mike :ohyea:

What is the most commonly used replacement size for the rear tire when not OEM?

I'm running a 205/60R15 Vredestein Quatrac 5 and it is a slightly larger diameter, correcting about half of the speedometer error (down from 2MPH to 1 MPH at 70 MPH as measured by GPS), and slightly narrower, for me it allows more clearance on the missing belt guard. Very happy with this tire.

General Altimax 225/60/15 is this size to big for the f3s? is anyone using it?

I don't think the Altimax comes in that size ……. Mike :ohyea:....Correction ….it does come in that size...but in a different model.... Thank you for checking further …..:thumbup::thumbup:

Thanks for this ….. I did change my post …… However the last time I looked at the Altimax on TireRack …. they didn't list the 225/60-15 …. and for the past 6 mos. I have been recommending the Vredestein Quatrac 5 which has a little better performance numbers ….. Mike :ohyea:…………….A big difference between the 225/50-15 & the Altimax 225/60-15 is …… this Altimax is 1.7 inches wider in DIAMETER , imho this may cause the tread to contact the Swing Arm near the attaching bolt !!!! not a good thing :gaah:

You know these tire posts are like going to a horror movie, you know your going to get jumped out of your seat, but you watch the darn thing anyway!!!:roflblack::popcorn::clap: Tires and oil!!!!!

Mikey I try - I really do, even if I get spanked occasionally for saying someone is giving Bad info :lecturef_smilie:..... But I'm not going to buy a 225/60-15 tire so I can say emphatically ….it Won't / Will Fit ….. hence I said " imho this may ".... What I do know is a 225/50-15 ( OEM ) is a close fit as is the 215/60-15...…. ride safe - ride happy …… Mike :ohyea:

Just came home from tire shop putting new Quadratrac 5 165-60x15 tires on my Spyder. Wow, no one was kidding, it makes a new ride out of it. So much smoother and tracking is so much cleaner. Can't believe the difference. Running 16.5 air pressure to split the difference between those with 16 and 17. Lugs put down at exactly 80, splitting the spec sheet of 77-82.

Wife's Spyder gets the same tires tomorrow. Sadly one tire was eaten by the machine and a brand new tire has a hole in the side wall. Simple accident, tire shop will have new tire there tomorrow around lunch time. It's all good.

Can't wait for spring and get the rear tire replaced when doing the laser alignment. Just the front tires has made a huge difference.

Friends on the original tire is written for only motorcycles. And BRP does not recommend the use not the original, there's some sort of special rubber or just a trick of the manufacturer?

I apologize for my English my native language is Russian
