• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. New F3 fuel cap in the works from Lamonster Garage

We're in the final testing stage of the new keyless fuel cap. Many of us have trouble closing our cap after fueling and this is our solution. This will come unfinshed, all black and black with accent cut like our IPS products. I posted this on Facebook and had great response but I forgot to post it here. So what do you guys think? :doorag:

I personally love the idea that it is keyless. I’ll be getting one when they come out. Thanks Lamont.

NEW FUEL CAP

I do like the look but would be afraid some jerk would steal the gas cap or put some foreign object in the tank. I have had no trouble closing my cap since I sprayed silicone on the rubber gasket. Great product, though, for those that are interested.

Me too

Riding motorcycles all over the USA and owning well over 50 motorcycles as well as owning lots of cars and trucks for 60 years anyhow. Never had anyone mess with a gas cap in any way.

Keyless Gas Cap sounds great.

Someone stealing the gas cap or putting some foreign object in the tank would be enough of a worry that you would not buy the product? That surprises me. Does that happen often in the US?

Looks good to me. I didn't know that I wasn't alone in struggling with the gas cap.

We have had a number of them like that in our shop. Have been able to fix all of them with proper lubrication and instruction on how to close the lid.

True as did I on mine. But sometimes you just want that thing to blend in and stop staring you in the face. Powder Coating is a PITA and paint can't withstand fuel when some a-hole fills the vapor nozzle with overflow!

Ahhhh, the things we come up with to justify some snazzy new farkle! :roflblack:

It is a snazzy new farkle! And if aesthetics is the reason for it then it makes all the sense in the world. No need to justify your farkle urges to me. ;)

Suppose I was lucky in the aesthetics area as the matte finish silver gas cap was a perfect match for my color scheme. Not so much on a triple black.

Original Gas Cap - Question

Can the Lamonster Garage share with us what they have been doing to the original caps to make them work better?

The one thing I dislike about the factory setup is having to remove the key, insert the key, unlock the lid, lock the lid remove the key, insert the key... I did not have to deal with that on my ST with a gas door. If I pull in listening to some good tunes, they will be interrupted by the whole thing. Also the key insertion requires just the right angle or it will not go in. Just pulling in and unscrewing the cap like every other motorcycle on the planet is very attractive to me.
