• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

2018 Models

Black and gold seems to be the theme. Saw some pics of the 2018's at the dealership when we bought my wife's F3T.

It would be nice if the 2018 have leaning front suspention. Most three wheels companies are going for the leaning model. Can am should be not falling behind.

ADVANTAGE

I agree BRP will likely not do it....but, the Piaggio has leaning capabilities! Different league though.

there is truly no advantage to have the wheels lean.... the only thing it would accomplish, would be to raise the price by a few thousand dollar$.....
i like my F3 just the way it is....

I lean towards keeping things as they are........at least for the setup as it is now. That does NOT preclude improvements where they are needed. And we all know that there is room for improvement!

RE: Release date for information. Those who get BRP e-mails will start seeing the propaganda stuff a couple weeks before. Lamont also announces the date/time a bit in advance.

Interested in looking--but no plans on buying. My current two RT's are so far, doing just fine.:yes:

Piaggio (Vespa) in Europe and Honda and Yamaha in Asia make leaners but in all three cases they are smaller then our Spyders.

Sadly....

The b.lack and gold would be only the 10th year edition. May be other colors for the rest...could be a rim change but not much else visable. As for leaning...it would be costly. Most three wheel leaners featured from time to time have just a skeleton. No frunk, no VSS, skinny motorcycle rear wheel (but then you would need that if leaning) the others are all scooters, besides which I really like the spyder for what it is..:2thumbs:

DEALER

my dealer told me we won't see them in the showroom until December of this year....
if BLACK/GOLD is all they have, their sales will suffer as they have with the DAYTONA model...
BRP give us something NEW.... 1800cc, a turbo-charged version, turn the key and GO like the cops have, a back rim that you can get at the air-valve without being a contortionist... GIVE US SOMETHING NEW... :lecturef_smilie: :banghead: :gaah:

The fast start code was added to all spyders from 2015 and newer. No need to wait for the nanny to phone home any more. Turn key and when gauge sweep is done, press mode and then start. Display will finish booting on its own time afterward.

Some strong hints from some BRP folks that something is coming.....they will not reveal what it is at this time but I am "guessing" there could be an entry level Spyder on the horizon, maybe below the $15,000.00 mark. There will obviously be more colors in all lines than the Black Gold, or that would not be a limited edition so time will tell!

10th Anniversary ordering, ends on October 24th...
The 2018 introduction should be about a Month prior to that.
Let's hope that the entry-level, 600 ACE shows up!

Absolutely untrue that there is no advantage. I'm not saying they should or shouldn't do it, as I'm sure it'd be a reason to raise the price, and by doing it on only some models, they'd kinda be admitting the old way is inferior in some way. How would they promote it? Safety standpoint?

The new models are released in September. Does anyone know what date the show is for the reveal?

they will announce the 2018 lineup at the annual dealer meeting which is in the middle of September per our BRP rep..
I'm ready to trade my 2014 for a 2018 model so also watching the announcements???
