YOUR WINDSHIELD CHOICE ON F3? Gustaffson, Madstad, Rifle, California Scientific, F4

This is the biggest F4 you can get....25" with vent. I am 6'7", with a 38" inleg and the airflow hits about my hairline to get air into the front helmet vent. Yes, it is big, but it's just perfect for touring. I love it. I didn't find it too hot in the Aussie summer, but everyone is different. I used Don's height sizing guide and it was perfect. I would probably use a shorter screen in summer if I wasn't touring though.

From what I understand, F4 makes a 32" Tall shield as well. If an F4 were the shield of choice, then that would be my selection for my F3S. I'm 6'1" and I would want to be sure I had no head buffeting.

Still trying to decide which direction to go.

Thanks everyone for your remarks and posts.

F3 Windshield

For the S model we make two sizes. The 28" and 32". I am also 6'1" and I can look through or just over the 32" since the S model is adjustable and I look over the 28".
Both do a great job of clearing the air up and over my head however if you ride with a co rider the 32" is best.
Hope this helps.

None of the above mentioned. stock BRP Low Boy windshield came stock on my 2016 F3Limited Special Series. I love my low boy windshield I hate tall windshields

Same comment here, I hate tall windshields, I don't like looking through them, we are not in 1970 :). I have an F3S and I am 5'7". I always wear a 3/4 helmet with a shield and a mesh jacket for warm weather or a heavier jacket for cold weather. I currently have the bike without a windshield because I like the wind to cool me down on hot days in Arkansas during the summer. I just don't like those rides when I can get to 70mph with wind hitting hard on the chest and I am trying to grab the handlebar not to be blown away. The Low Boy on your F3T seems like a similar height like a BRP Route 129 for the F3S, although it seems that yours have some ventilation under it. Any additional comments or recommendations? Thanks.

Windshield for the the F3 S

At your height the 28" clear or tint would be great. Not to large and you will look over it which it seems like you prefer. Would love to talk to you about your options so if you can please call me at 330-968-4644

I have to go with a F4 Custom Windscreen. I installed the 23 inch tinted and am loving it. I use a 1/2 helmet with a shield usually. I took for a test drive and when I got home 30 minutes later I realized I never but the face shield down. I look through the screen and it is perfect. I removed the BRP "Tall Boy" because it was too short. ( Anyone interest in a good used one :) ) As for customer service F4 Customs is top notch and true. My first screen had a pit mark from shipping. I had a replacement the next day. Talk about service.

Many thanks. :yes::clap:

I have a Madstad and it is only ok. Lots better than none but lacking alot in the airflow . It adjust good up and down but I get lots of air from the sides. It seems to be about 2 inches too narrow for me. Its on a 2015 F3S. I have about 11,000 miles on it. But can not afford to buy another. And don't know which I would buy.. They all seem very costly to me.

I agree with you MrBones, if the Madstad were wider it would be perfect.

Glad to hear you are a happy camper. If you don't mind me asking - how tall are you?

F4

I went with F4 25" w/vent. I am 6'1" and I can look over when I sit straight up or thru the windshield when I ride in a more relaxed slouched position. The clarity of the F4 is amazing. Got a good price from Sid's and PayPal.

Thanks guys......this post cost me a few hundred $$$$$$ roflmao. I also ended up with an F4 for my F3L. Got the 25" & wow.......my helmet is quiet again!! Their customer service is amazing & they're knowledgeable since they ryde too. I just went from an RTL to an F3L so wind was a concern with the mini shield. There's no more issue! My F3 is as quiet as an RT now.

I know it may be a higher price point than you expected but the quality & service are as good as it comes.

My wife is only 5'3" and her stock shield is a bit low on the F3 Limited. She had a Spyder ST prior with an adjustable shield. I am really leaning to the F4 for the quality in the smaller size however at 21 1/2" she would be looking through the shield. Her eye position is at 19" off the tank She isn't "sold" on the idea of "looking through a shield" tho. ......any other suggestions?

I just spoke with a guy locally that swears by the Blue Ridge shield. He loves it and he suggested the extension that "Twisted Throttle" sells for it as well. I've not yet met a single person (or married ) here in my area that owns an F4 shield. My local dealer didn't even identify with F4 at all. I'm still looking for one for my F3S.

I am also deciding about windshields. Which windshield is shown in the large pic in the text of your post? It doesn't look like the tinted F4.

California Science

I just spoke with someone today who gave a huge recommendation for the Cal Sci windshields for the F3.

He said he was very happy with his decision.

Any other Cal Sci-Fi owners?

We called and spoke to Alicia. GREAT communication and customer service. She was VERY helpful and patient (we called 3 times with questions)
We ordered 21" tinted with a vent for her F3 AND I went ahead and got the 10" tint recurve for my new Harley.
We did a 250 mile test ride in prep for our Sturgis trip in 2 wks and shields were GREAT !!!
