Colorado, Open Carry you do not even have to register your gun. Concealed is with a permit. (i could never figure that one out). Recently, there was a law passed I think at a federal level that prevents states, town and cities to restrict people that have a Concealed carry permit from entering public buildings, Because they have a right to protect themselves no matter where they are. The only way City’s and towns can still restrict is to provide security for them, meaning metal detectors and x-ray machines (like that is going to stop anyone from doing harm). That is why you will see more and more metal detectors going up. My City just put up metal detectors, so people coming into pay their water bill, have to pass through it and all belongings have to go through an x-ray machine. It is a big pain in the butt. I am always torn between being a good citizen and giving up my rights. Thats just me.

Here in Washington

Here in the pacific northwest, specifically Washington, it is an open carry state. The normal restrictions apply of course, in places like courts, schools, bars, etc.... As well as normal restrictions that apply to people, ie convicted felons.

Otherwise you go to your local law enforcement agency, fill out an application form, pay the fee ($54.00 I think) for the background and fingerprints. A few weeks later, your concealed weapons permit gets approved and your golden.

Heck, I was shopping in Walmart not to long ago and there was a woman packing a S/W 1911 on her belt. No one even gave her a second look. Friend of mine carries his Sig in a thigh holster.

That's the way it was in Georgia when I lived there about 15 years ago. Here in Kansas you have to take a course in addition to the background check, etc.

My guns remain in the house unless used for a special purpose. I have a permit to carry concealed if I

desire to take to a reciprocal state.

Thats what I thought, soft targets=more gun violence. I wont be going there any time soon.
