• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

Spyderfest or Bust (FROM THE EAST COAST)

You could stay on I81 and meet just East of Hershey. Or you could just come down the Thruway to I287 first then West on I80.

Also, don't forget that Dee and Mike are coming from Vermont. They might want to join up as well.

Why do I have CW McCall's "Convoy" running through my head right now?

Good idea

Thanks, updated on google:thumbup:

That looks a lot like the route I took last year. I would suggest not going through the heart of St. Louis. Take I255 to I270 to I44 to go around the city.

The ride across Indiana and Illinois is quite dull. Miles and miles of flat, straight road through huge farms.

THANK YOU!

Joanie, from what I have seen so far, you guys at your end do all the hard work. I'm looking forward to enjoying the great time your planning.

As a member of MoGang (the crazy individuals who take a week off of work to assist in putting on SF) I want to say thank you to all new "newbies" and "oldies" (Bob) coming from the north east!!

You will have a wonderful time and as of 1/1/2015 at 9:53 a.m you are in the first 777!!

For the newbies some of the oldies will tell you just be prepared for any type of weather. Missouri is constantly changing.

MoGang will meet next Saturday, January 9, after that we will have a tentative schedule to post. I am pretty darn sure it is going to include fireworks this year!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love to all see you soon.:clap:

Those are some serious miles, and a lot of mountainous terrain to navigate through... Whatever you all decide, add 20% to your anticipated time/schedule. Usually construction during that time of year gets in the way, and being an el nino winter, you may have a wet Spring and potential bad weather to deal with. Just food for thought, but sounds like a lot of fun!

If I was to map out a route from Atlanta, I could drive north and meet y'all in Lexington KY... That's a 7-hour ride considering stops for me. Gosh, I would love to make it to spyderfest. Right now, no official plans to attend though.

You're right Brian. Last year I did it in two days and I was wiped at the end of each day. Didn't get to my stop until well after sunset.

We should really consider taking three days if possible.

3 day option

I will put a three day option together for comparison sake and post later today.

..........

We'll be at SpyderFest 2016.....but we only live across town so we are driving straight through with no lay over! hehehehehe
While I think not having to drive many many miles to get here will be nice....we will miss out on the fun of Spyder riding across the country.....I hope you have a great trip and a great time at SpyderFest 2016!

I am in Duluth, GA and have a 2013 ST-S. No solid plans on whether I will attend Spyderfest or not as I am new to this forum and the spyder. If any other guys are driving up from the Atlanta area I would love to know :)

You could always take a ride East, and meet up with us for a day's worth of the ride! :2thumbs:

;) If we can get everyone on the same arrival schedule; it's gonna help a lot! :D
I've got a Single-King room, but wouldn't mind it if a cot was brought in for someone with a Wednesday arrival...

3 Day Option

I'm all for doing it in three days. But if we do it in 3, I really vote for an alternate route. I'm driving the PA-OH-IN route now and it is BORING!

I may take you up on the cot for the 27th. Either that or I will sleep in a chair by the pool :ohyea:

i I was able to get a room the 26th and 28th-31st. Homeless on the 27th unless I go to another hotel for the night.

 You won't have to sleep by the pool... Unless you absolutely can't get enough of the bikini-clad beauties that will be swimming in it all night long! :D

 What am I saying??? I'm joining you out by the Pool! :roflblack:

2 day and 3 day option

OK, I have 2 google maps now. One map is a 2 day option with day one everyone meeting in Charleston, WV (Time to there varies) and then doing about 8-10 hours on day 2 to Springfield.

The second map is a 3 day option and I picked Louisville Kentucky as the stop for day two. So the three day option would be day 1 to Morgantown, WV (Time to there varies) and day 2 is about 6-7 hours to Louisville Kentucky, and then about 6-7 hours day 3 to Springfield, MO.

I am more in favor of the 3 day option and sleeping by the pool on Tuesday
:yikes:

Hotel Info: ( I'm a fan of Yelp, so here is the link to Hotels on the three day route)

Looked like it was about 1/3 of the way

I'm certain there was an interested party from Morgantown earlier and from there it was only 4 inches to Louisville and another four inches to Springfield, according to the map!
