• There were many reasons for the change of the site software, the biggest was security. The age of the old software also meant no server updates for certain programs. There are many benefits to the new software, one of the biggest is the mobile functionality. Ill fix up some stuff in the coming days, we'll also try to get some of the old addons back or the data imported back into the site like the garage. To create a thread or to reply with a post is basically the same as it was in the prior software. The default style of the site is light colored, but i temporarily added a darker colored style, to change you can find a link at the bottom of the site.

BRP a no show at SITR

So can someone explain why BRP cancelled 5 days before Spiders in The Redwoods?

A lot of us that are here feel a little snubbed and disrespected. This was to be one of the rally's they promised to attend and support.

Jack

They cancelled on many other events that were promised too... I have heard of at least 3 so far across the country.

BRP BRP BRP----Promises Promises Promises----???

Hell of a way to run a Railroad, or a motor sports company. IMHO

Jack

That is truly disappointing to hear. Maybe they should have spent alittle less money at Sturgis trying to break into new markets and alittle more money trying to maintain loyal customers.

I would not be surprised. And I don't think it too difficult to know which one. Times... they are a changing...

If I had to guess I would say the RS. The F3 should replace it.

I myself am going to argue but I guess we will see who guessed best.

The RS has a much lower out the door cost than a F3. The ST is almost the same price as the F3.

Why cut your entry level lower priced Spyder?
To me, the ST from a price point, is the best decision to eliminate because of the F3 has almost the same price point as the ST.

Anyone wanna bet me a burger or a beer?

(I am sure Lamont will correct me if I am wrong) :)

Then again thinking about it......

The 998 could go by way of the dino!

That is all 998 Spyders are gone!!!!! Replaced with the 1330 across the board!

F3 and RT are the only line up in 2016....

Why continue to have multiple manufacturing lines doing Spyders with 998's and 1330's?

So my "OTHER BET" is that the 998 is gone in 2016 and only the F3 (and derivatives) and the RT remain.

Just my other "best guess" :)

Bob

I doubt they will take away the variety of the line by taking out the RS. I would imagine any buyer who might have bought an ST will simply select another model, and that will be the one to go. I'm also expecting a 1330 in the RS, since after all that is the sport model!

It is very disappointing to know that they aren't supporting the events they promised to support. Perhaps they'd like to make a statement here so we can better understand their position and reasoning.

A dealer hinted to me it was the ST. They are just not selling he told me.

Makes sense. Why buy a ST for almost the same price as a F3? ST has a two cylinder engine and the F3 has three and is NEWER!

For about $1-2K difference (if that) I see no one buying the ST. I certainly would not.

I am going to doubt that "a little"......

The F3 is sporty! Possibly more sporty than the RS.

I don't see how they would make an F3 into a RS and give that lower price point. At least not this year which is why I said above "derivatives"......
Probably not in 2016.

If they keep the RS I bet it will remain a 998.

The riding positions on the two models is so radically different, to me I think they'd have very different demographic appeals. I don't know how much the 1330 adds in cost, and that is a very relevant question.

I made my predictions a long time ago. I will wait until its official about which model gets the boot.

Will let you know if I was right. :roflblack::roflblack::roflblack:

I was right about the RT and the bigger engine plus the benefits that we would receive if it happened.:bowdown::roflblack::roflblack:

Oh, and I do agree that BRP should keep any commitments that they make about attending :spyder2: functions. IMO, their fantastic announcement at Sturgis was much ado about nothing. If they threw all their eggs into that basket :yikes:

I made made a decision to buy th ST over the F3. It is 2 different riding styles. I bought the ST because I believe it is the best bike for touring outside of the RT. Better storage, ability to pull a trailer, etc. Also, I bought the ST Limited for about $8-10,000 less if you added the same options to the F3-S. Very happy with my decision!
