So i took a 150 mile ride today on my Ryker and after a short distance my hand was going numb not painfull but a real nuisance. I was thinking about trying some thicker foam grips or a throttle rocker https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...R3PFM9Y5&psc=1 has anyone had this issue or used either of these products?
Does anyone know if these are 7/8" or 1" handlebars? On my Harley I installed some ergonomic handgrips that were great when I took a straight ten hour trip, stopping only to refuel. Surely, after market grips can be used. I used these grips (Chinese knock offs).
Interesting. How much longer can you go before your hand needs a break?
I noticed the difference right away, but that's because I got away from the "death grip" after putting on the new foam grips. I have carpal tunnel from my working days and feel anything from a tingling to numbness in my fingers. I think it also helps because the diameter you are gripping is now larger than the stock grips. If you are thinking about it they are cheap enough and since they just slide on you can always take them off.
Tight grip will cause this. Relax, and see if it helps.
x's 10 ….. When I'm just cruising, I don't even grip the grips at all …. just keep both Palms with open fingers on the grips ….. in the Twisties I grip firmly …. but that at most is 10 - 15 minutes at a time ….. Mike
My GFs 900 was vibrating badly, she had trouble seeing in the mirrors and her hands going numb.
I ordered a 12" X 13/16" piece of brass from McMaster Carr, cut it in half, drilled and tapped a threaded 1/4 - 20 hole in one end (to aid in placement and removal) milled a 1/4 inch groove halfway down the side to clear the pins for the grips and inserted it with some silicone adhesive to hold it in place.
Each side has 6" of brass inside.
It fixed the vibration problems and she can see clearly out of the mirrors.

If Her 900 was vibrating badly ….. those weights are a Band-aid to the problem ….. I believe Her wheels are very un-balanced …. and the added weights are Now masking the Bad vibes ….However the vibes are still there and if not addressed will cause other issues / problems down the road. ….. good luck …. Mike
Foam grips, loose grip, wrists in line with forearm.
Ours is a red, black and chrome 2017 F3 Limited. Bought new in 2/2019. The avatar is my first bike back in 1952, a Simplex Servi-Cycle. Photo taken at the Barber Museum.
Hi dklehman I have throttle rocker and have set it around 60 / 70 mph so then on motorway or fast A road I can rest my palm on it and relax my fingers it's a big help . Bit hard to stretch over grip but a heat gun helps to open it more to fit over grip regards Nico 75

Her vibration was from the motor buzzing just like they all do, we have ridden 3 of them and they each had buzzing in the handlebars as many bikes do.
Many bikes come with weighted ends for this purpose.

I've owned so many bikes I can't remember them all ….. NONE of them Blurred the mirrors, or made my hands Numb. … I gave advice based on what you posted...……..Glad the weights made Her happy ….. keep an eye out for any unusual tire wear ….. Mike
I personally REALLY don't like that style of grips.
They feel funny.
They aren't any softer than stock; feels harder in fact.
For anyone considering them, I suggest that you actually try them out off the bike just for feel before shelling out the $$$.
I have them on my Harley and these are very soft. The black rubber is hollow and cushions the hand, isolating your hand from the vibrations. Of course, these are Chinese knockoffs.

I agree, and having large hands and gloves to tight does not help. I only have one pair of gauntlet gloves that are large enough and unlined. They do make a difference. I also think it can improve with just getting used to riding and take frequent small breaks helps. I can ride 10 hours a day now, at first 1/2 was hard. Also cold makes it worse for me. Keep trying and you will likely find what works for you.
