+1 on Dave's gel pad. I put one on my SpyderRT and turned the factory seat from a 2 hour seat into an all day, day after day seat. I am adverse to spending several hundred dollars to fix something the factory should have already addressed. For 3 hrs time and about $100.00( I had to buy a power stapler machine). I wasn't sure how to do part of the installation so I called Dave and graciously spent time walking me thru. Although I am not affiliated with Dave I will gladly support the sale of this product, its a great inexpensive way to get a good seat.

I don't want to be negative but in my experience, a gel pad left in the sun while parked will get burning hot. There goes your comfort. The only preventive measure I have found is covering it with a white towel when parked.

    They are comfortable though.

The gel pad goes UNDER the seat cover and becomes part of the seat. I have had mine on now for over 2 years and it has never become so hot it was not comfortable. Maybe if it was sitting on top of the of the seat it would be different.

    Default Not hot any more

    Hi Bob
Here is the straight info, Many years ago about 1989 or so when GEL was introduced to the public,
it was much thicker and very dense and it did hold heat and cold for an extended time however now
30 years later this is not the case with the Gel I use. I have my GEL made special for me by the
same company that manufactures MEDICAL GEL, see my other website www.valleymedicalrepair.com
My GEL is the same as used in Hospital beds, wheel chairs, physical therapy tables and equip. Dental chairs
and much more it is NOT like all the others you may have seen, The company that makes the GEL also came up
with MEMORY foam now seen all over in beds, pillows and such. I had them make a sandwich of GEL and memory
for me to get rid of any chance of heat in the seat, When installing the GEL pad always put the GEL side down
and the memory foam side UP, the memory foam is very porous millions of tiny air bubbles the memory foam does
not retain heat or cold...Problem solved.
    Ride safe
    Dave

Is there a video that shows the process of installing these gel pads so I could see what I'd be getting myself into?

I guess you can but I don't see the point.
