RE: Slingshot I got an ad yesterday showing a NEW model.
The SE LE: A limited edition with a killer paint job (if you like red and orange). Dual windshields, and the interior lighted with LED's. The upgrades cost $1,000 making the total cost $24,999. I tried to post the link and picture, but was not able to. Maybe someone else is better at it than I.
It is showing on the Polaris site.

I don't know about where you live, but I've seen more SlingShots on the road in the last month, than Spyders over the last two years.
At least out here, looks like Polaris has hit a sweet spot.
Ya, I know my Spyder dealer has sold 6 Slingshots. I subscribe to the theory "a new broom always sweeps well". Personally, I was not that impressed. they are difficult to get into unless you are a contortionist??????? It appears your butt is almost dragging on the street. I like my 2014 RT Limited and will not change. Time will tell.
BIG F
I think that I found an effective way of making ingress and egress easier:
Getting in...
Step into the car, and with both feet on the floorboards; grab the wheel, and then sit down.
Getting out...
Grab the wheel, stand up, and step out...
It makes that whole process of pulling the last leg in over the side body panels a non-issue.
When I was an undergrad, our big thing was the "sports car" - MG A/B, Tiger, Healey, Alfa, etc. The SS owners I've talked to feel more draw to those than to motorcycles. There's even a Friday night SS only rally scheduled for next month.
There's also a local guy who has installed a SxS roll cage on his SS (I'll take a pic, next time I see him), with a roof and grab handles to assist entry/exit. I'm waiting for the 3 wheel drive unit to show up...
I am trying to copy the site.
Cost is $24,999 as mentioned in post #2 It has a yellow/orange/red paint job. Randy has an SL model.
The colors in the piece below do not show off the stunning paint job. The actual Polaris site has a good representation. I was not able to transfer from that site.

This is SoCal and here they dress to impress. The ones that I have seen are parked with the owner standing by for praise. They seriously avoid mentioning price so the unsuspecting think its like a Lamorgini or Ferrari and out of reach for them. I have seen two on the roads we travel. One was an older couple who could barely see over the dash puttering about (glad I was not behind them I think they stopped for banked curves) and the other looked like a parts guy from a bike shop picking something up from home depot (wonder whose bike they were working on). Wonder if there is a state by state sales estimate ( TX and CT are out). At any rate they are not that abundant here.

I saw one on the road in Las Vegas and at first I thought it was a fancy car, then I saw the driver with his helmet on and I had to laugh at how silly that looked. We also saw one on the road in Yuma and they waved at our group on Spyders like mad. They were probably former Spyder owners.
