BRP is putting their money behind a number of events to assist in building their brand and helping others. This one seems worthwhile to me. They explained what they planned to do and it seems they are doing what they said.

It makes me a little sad that we had to hear about it on a forum rather than a phone call-but none the less--we are excited
Len was contacted earlier in the year and told we would not have the technical support truck this year. For him-knowing what it takes for rider support this was a non-negotiable. He was able to secure some of the best BRP techs available for product issues. We are preparing for this soon with the technical team at BRP. They will be focused on getting you on the road as soon as possible. Pitbull also contracts tech from another dealer to make sure Ryder's are taken care of.
Pitbull as a dealer will be using their one demo truck pass (as we have every year) to make sure the Spyder community gets to try the latest and greatest.
We will also have a PAC specialist Lise in attendance and a major unit specialist to help answer any questions
]I'm not sure what will occur beyond that from a BRP perspective, but let's bring it back around to what Spyderfest is all about--getting in some good rydes, checking out the latest farkles, and hanging out with friends to kick tires and tell stories. We don't need BRP's official stamp of approval to do that and neither do you!!! (Although I guess after the community expressed concern we now have it)
Len and MoGang are committed to everyone having the best time possible!!! We were anxious to hear the results of the contest as well, but I can promise you it doesn't dampen our resolve to put on the best Spyder event possible. Spyderfest 2015 will be one to remember--I can't wait to meet you there!!!!
Just wanted to help make Mrs. Pitbull Buggy post easier to read. I believe she was posting from an iPhone or an IPad and it came out a little difficult to read.

BRP Cares???
I am really disappointed in the way BRP is showing they care. By not putting on the annual Owner's Event, they are saving lots of $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. They don't have to pay for all the staff's expenses, or the free food, or the gift bag of goodies and a gas card, advertising, promotions, the rental fees for the tents and grounds, etc. The support they are giving only 7 events probably is a small portion of the money they will be saving by not having an Owner Event that showed their appreciation to those of us who own the Spyders and who are responsible for the profit BRP owners enjoy every year. It's a definite snub to not support Spyderfest 2015, the biggest Spyder event in this country that draws folks from all over the country and several countries other than our own.

Sorry, but I beg to differ in a respectable way. I quoted your particular post but also am replying to many of the other "negative" reactions.
BRP went from one event that people complained about when it was not in their specific area.
This year, BRP is participating in eight events (originally seven and then spyderfest mentioned as a planned event).
Next year, if they are not run off by the public, I am guessing the events will be held in at least seven new and different locations.
I am at a loss to see all the anti BRP remarks over this particular issue. IMO, they have tried to spread things around and please more people.

I really don't agree.
There is more to Spyder events then SpyderFest.
A lot of us cant get there at that time of the year or it just too far.
BRP will be at SpyderFest after all, so why are you complaining.
Its not all about gift bag size and content but about covering the most of two large countries and probably giving access to BRP to more Spyder riders then just the one at SpyderFest.

Note that in addition to the above-mentioned events, BRP will also be present at Spyderfest in MO with a demo truck and staff on hand. Finally, we'll share the list of all the events that were submitted so you can see if there is one happening near you. If you have any questions, please contact the event organizers via their website.
Thank you all very much for participating, and looking forward to seeing you at an event - or on the road.
Thank you BRP... this is an awesome list and spreading of sponsorship dollars!! I'm particularly glad you've selected SpyderQuest as I'll be making my 2nd cross-country trip to this event! The scenery is breath-taking... and that is what I love about this format. There are many great events throughout the country, I only wish I had more time and money! But, it's the opportunity to get exposure to some great venues and expose new riders to great areas of the country! If there are some events in the NW next year, let's rally to get one sponsored... I'd love to head West one year! The Redwoods looks cool, maybe next year, unless there's a Washington or Oregon one!
I will also be heading to SpyderFest this year and am looking forward to it and am glad to see it's somewhat of an anchor event that doesn't need special handling... it is what it is... it's the first event I heard about after I got my Spyder... it's part of the Spyder culture!
And please turn a deaf ear on all the nay-sayers, go with the 80/20 rule... in this context, there will always be 20% that will never be satisfied! I call those 20% Harley riders!!
And to the folks that are crying for a down-south event... I live in Texas, and in most of the central south if you've ridden 1 mile, you've ridden them all! It just doesn't compare to the NE, or I imagine the NW or West!!
Happy ryding... it's the adventure that makes life!

Frankly, I find it hard to blame BRP for looking for ways to save some money in 2015. Everyone here knows that they are in the midst of a HUGE NHTSA/TC investigation involving multiple years and models, which, before it's all said and done, is not going to cost them just $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$, but MANY times that. As the owner of a 2013 RT, I'd rather they find the dollars needed to fix my bike, as well as all of the other tens of thousands of Spyders worldwide that will be effected by the end of the campaign.
It is NOT my intention to turn this thread into a another discussion of that issue, and I hope that does not happen. (It's being discussed in detail elsewhere on the forum.) All I'm saying is we have to be realistic about their need to recoup some dollars at this time. BRP does not likely have a bottomless pit of money.
Also, as several others have posted, the fact that they are spreading what money they are contributing, to several events around the country which will benefit more of us, is indeed appreciated.

I think what most people are upset about is that two events aren't even Spyder events. And that it is mainly the north, east and west there is nothing centrally located, nothing is located in the midwest or south.
I congratulate the winners and hope their events are huge success.

Let's just be glad we have choices
Let's just get along and be glad that we have these fun machines to ride. Wherever we choose to go (there's great events all over the country), let's have fun with friends and keep safe.
Congratulations to all the groups. We go to Spyderfest every year, but we went to SOAR's event last year too. It was great. This year we will try to make SpyderQuest, and now we see more great events to plan for in the future. It's all good.

No representation in S. California, Arizona, Idaho, Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico and West Texas. I wonder how many Spyders there are in the Southwest? Eureka is in the very Northern part of CA just South of Oregon for SITR. The entire Southwest has been overlooked again. Thats what we get for having all the nice weather here I suppose.

If BRP hadn't used the term Owners Event I wouldn't be disappointed but like others have said two of these events aren't Spyder specific. I guess they should have asked for input on how to spend their marketing money and then just do whatever they wanted.
And to to the Texan who said that if you've ridden one
mile in Texas you've ridden them all, you must never have been to the Hill Country.
2017 F3T-SM6 Squared Away Mirror Wedgies & Alignment

2013 RTS-SM5 burned up with 13,200 miles in 13 weeks

Haha - I grew up in the Hill Country - there is some nice scenery - Austin and surrounding towns are the best in Texas! Guess in comparison I like the tall trees and greenery of other places after seeing Texas for so long!
I don't know if BRP could handle the liability of all the heat strokes in an August event in Texas - although could be a gap filler with a December or March event but then everything's brown!! A Texas event will definitely test the overheating issues on the Spyders!!

I think what everyone is missing is the difference between being supported as an event on the list and showing up! The events listed will get financial help with their events, where as Spyderfest will just have the presence of BRP. That is a huge difference.

Crazy! Should've had one in the big state of Texas.

Still shaking my head over some of the comments. BRP gave every event organizer the opportunity to explain why their particular event should be one of the seven sponsored events. Has anyone considered the possibility that applications for the seven events selected made convincing arguments as to why they should be selected, and events that were not selected, didn't?
BRP has taken nothing away from any group or event . . . seems that some folks are not happy unless they have something to be miserable, about . . . this forum gets less and less enjoyable to read, when so many comments are so full of righteous indignation and bring nothing useful to the discussion . . . just adding complaints and attacks . . .
Lighten up and learn to relax . . . life is too short to be a miserable all the time.

Everyone has their opinion and that is why we live in this great country because we have that ability.
So lets all stop, hope for wonderful weather for all the SPYDER events that will be held.
Just say "Goodnight Gracie"!!
