Garage Door Opener
Motofix allows you to activate your garage door opener with your turn signals or headlights. It runs $75 and looks very simple to install.

Very cool
Does it plug and play or do you have to splice wires into the Spyder as advertised?
-
It will plug and play if you buy their optional harness.

Very nice and pretty cool. For a lot less cost this mod has worked for me through all weather and 3 long road trips with no problems whatsoever.
Keyfob style garage door opener with industrial velcro on the back
Stuck under handlebars. I never take it off in any weather and it always works and no one knows it is there.
With Christ all things are possible, so live life with no fears and no worries.
Happy Ex Owner, Hopefully future Spyder owner again.

Also, some of us don't have that archaic stock steering column. :P

Thanks Wes, but I know James is messing with me. It's all good.

Garage door opener
Bought a small door opener at home Depot and programmed it to open the door at my home. Works perfectly. I mounted mine on the shroud over the gauges. Unobtrusive and functional. Cosy about $15.00.

The phone # 18776686411 is disconnected and website/email never returned questions. Are they still in business?

And what steering column is available that looks better than the stock one?
The only two options I've seen (Kewlmetal & Helibars) look horrible.
Got picks of something better?

I just stick the garage door opener in my pocket when I ride...when I get to the driveway, I pull it out and click it...this is probably the cheapest way to go, but it works quite well...

Hilarious! You've gotta love that dry British wit!

I just bought a universal remote at Sears for $40 and attached it above the instrument panel using velcro strips but I LOVE the Brit's approach

Nothing fancy for me, I keep my remote in the clear plastic top in my tank bag.

I have a small fob attached to my Spyder keys that I always wear in my right pocket when riding the Spyder. I just push the correct spot on my leg and the door always opens.
I like the idea of hiding a fob under the steering column. May try that.
