2012 rs tank problem.

I think my spyder sat longer then it should with an empty tank and now it's having issues idling and running. I feel it could be water and wondered if anyone has drained the tank and if so how does one go about doing that

without removing the tank or it's components.. carefully run a hose in the filler opening and syphon the gas out. Also you can disconnect the line from the fuel pump and use it to pump out the gas. There may still be gas at the bottom and the water will still likely be there. From the parts catalog I cannot see if there is a drain at the bottom. You can also try an additive like sea foam...

Put a little SeaFoam in it and the try running it before trying to drain the tank (follow directions on the SeaFoam label). Walmart or your local auto parts will have SeaFoam. It cleans up bad gas pretty good.

In the future, be sure to add a fuel stabilizer to your tank and top the tank off if you think you won't be running it for awhile. If in doubt, go ahead and add fuel stabilizer to every fillup it's not that expensive and will save you lots of grief if you don't run the engine for awhile (and put a Battery Tender on the battery, too... it'll save your battery when the Spyder is "asleep" for long periods of time).

SeaFoam and similar should get the water out. I would recommend changing the fuel filter as well.

Use a kerosene pump to pump out the old gas. Follow that with fresh gas and gas stabilizer and you will probably be good.

So the problem is worse then I realize I feel like it's a throttle body problem and not just fuel

I learned that the vaccum lines were rotted and it fouled out my plugs
