Question dash mount for 2012 RSS

    Hello all,

I am honored to share another day that was not promised with each of you...I have a 2012 RSS. I recently added the RAM-B-272U to the left side of my dash(I chose the side because the plastic is harder there on the RSS than in the center where the safety card is). I used the RAM-B-201U-A as the arm and used a 9mm screw/nut and placed a rubber washer under the screw and one on the other side with the nut. I previously had the phone on the handle bar using the x-grip with a different set up but felt that the phone sticking up took away from the look and that the phone had no protection up like that. I switched from the x-grip phone holder to the RAM-HOL-UN4U /RAM-B-238U set up with my dash project. The set up seems sturdy and that is without loctite...My question is, can I do anything extra to reduce vibrations? I guess I thought the vibrations would be minimal. It isn't a "violent" shake but it is noticeable while riding more than I would hope for. Any suggestions are appreciated. Pictures are attached. Thank you in advance for any feedback.

    Sorry, but:
I find the phone an impediment to safety whilst operating any type of vehicle. Therefore I keep the phone in my pocket until parked for whatever reason and I recommend that all drivers do the same.

No need to be sorry, I appreciate the safety advice...for me the phone is my GPS and my way of knowing if my wife needs me to pull over somewhere and return her phone call so to be honest I am distracted without the phone in my perifial.

    Default Here's what you do..!!

the bigger the plate or washer you can fit to the under side, or both sides the less vibrations. Had similar issue when mounting the lights on the air deflector (all light plastic)..20130111_122039.jpg but mounted my ram here..20130228_115823.jpg and it's solid..

I did not want to drill for resale value reasons so I purchased this. Straps right on and off.

Agree & i ride to get away form itImageUploadedByTapatalk1417837832.781632.jpg

However there are various rubber tapes and thin pipe insulation that could be helpful for vibration. When in doubt there's always duck tape
