It's got to be an alignment issue with the trailer. Sorry, I haven't been following this so I don't have any background info. I assume that one part of the tire is getting shredded and the rest of the tire looks fine?

After 3 rd set in 3000 miles a Logan Utah dealer discovered the right swing arm was at 5mm toe in...called BRP told him they didn't have a fix .. Utah tech says I'm going to try something to fix (BRP says OK and give her set #4 of trailer tires.). So he gets the toe in down to 1.5mm....BRP insists that is within tolerance. Well close is great in horseshoes, but in this case the proof is in the tire wear...granted Tires #4 lasted longer...it is always the right one that goes first (2 blew out - 3rd one was at wear bars when replaced). #4 is at 2/32 on the right one...left is about 4.5 (close to 1400 miles on this set).Tires are inflated as per BRP specs. I weigh everything that goes into the trailer...checked tongue weight...this trip I started with 117# in trailer...after 4 days down to 109# (drank the gallon of water making coffee!!!!). So sorry BRP techs but the 1.5 fix made things a little better...but did not fix. So there you go Ron..Reader's Digest version.
Have a great weekend...

sure sounds like the whole axle assembly needs to be replaced!!

And some of us complain about the lousy wear we are getting on our Spyder rear tire. My trailer is at the maximum weight every time I tow it and I'm only on my second set of tires and I've had this trailer since August 2010. And you know that I don't let any moss grow under my trailer tires.

Problem with that is the 622 has two independent torsion axles mounted to the frame structure.
So odds are, as the OP has noted I'm sure, it's the frame that isn't true and you can probably only shim those axle mounts so much which I suspect is what the Utah dealer did to help it out, but still no where close to true.
So its not the axle that needs replacing, but my bet would be the entire frame.
Good luck Murphybrown; fingers crossed for you to finally get this resolved.

From what I read on another thread, the hitch and geometry on her RT are good, but the trailer isn't tracking true. Hook it to another Spyder, chalk the tires, and see where the tread is wearing, then do the same thing on her RT,

My understanding, this has been going on for months now!
I don't know how many of these trailers have been sold.
I do know that this appears to the only one with this alignment issue.
Just what is BRP thinking,it's a no brainier.
BRP, do what should have been done long before this, and give this woman a NEW trailer!
Then take the trailer back to the factory, and figure just what went wrong.

Hopefully this will finally get resolved when you get back from your trip, we will keep you in our prayers! You would think that with all the trailers on the road and this is the only one having these kinds of problems, something went wrong in the manufacturing/assembly of yours. We hope to see BRP step up and just replace it with a new one!

Give Murphy a new (even a leftover) trailer. It won't affect the "bottom line" that much!

also. And my thought exactly as to the cause. The axle/frame geometry is off, and probably by quite a bit. Trailer tires should last forever. I guess we need to get the laser guys to work out an alignment scheme for the trailers too!
Not only are your trailer tires getting destroyed post haste. But you're burning a lot of fuel dragging that trailer sideways down the road. And I'll wager your rear tire is going away much quicker trying to motivate that boat anchor to keep up.
I know how miserable it is to take a long trip with defective equipment that no one is able to fix. Trips are supposed to be fun and problems should be temporary.
Come on BRP, the fix for this one is (as mentioned before) a no brainer. Here you have an a Spyder ambassador traveling the entire country with bad (factory bad) equipment. It's not her fault, it's not the dealer's fault, it's the factory's fault, it is simply BRP's fault. I'd say giving her a new trailer and taking this defective one back would be very inexpensive advertising and good for R&D. Much better than having her post that her BRAND NEW TRAILER is shredding tires over and over.
Kick this one upstairs and have someone make the right decision.
Ok, now I feel much better. Hope this gets fixed soon so you can post the good news and we'll all feel better.

And they'd better not try to prorate the value based on how long she's had this lemon. They should be paying MurphyBrown for all the travel time she's lost sitting in tire repair shops!!!

Some one at BRP needs to reverse engineer the process, its a company with good intentions but the bureaucracy gets in the way of customer safety and service. The basic frame could not be worth that much, I have had mine stripped down and there is nothing there, even the independent suspension is very simple. It would have saved the company a lot of money to simply have a dealer swap out the frame with a new one (or replace the trailer entirely if they so choose) and send the old one back to the lab for testing to determine what had gone wrong.
After seeing my frame up close I was convince Karl had a serious toe in problem, Don and I were speaking of this just last Sunday. The big question is how did this get past QA at the manufacturer. This issue could have caused an accident and failing to be proactive in a timely manner is edging on the criminal. When her first tire was shredded someone need to step up, BRP or the dealer that sold it immediately. 3 months and many, many tires later she is still dragging a trailer with serious issues behind her?
I am glad to hear they are finally trying to resolve this for you Karl, keep up the good fight .

Maybe PitBull should replace the trailer and fight with BRP. At least they have a little pull. I think they are blowing off M/B. Come on BRP it is only morally right. I do not know what you think is right in Canada but down here in the lower 48 this is Bull Crap.
I have had two large boats built in Canada on nothing but a handshake. No contracts involved with Cooper Yachts, the largest boat builder in Canada and our relationship was impeccable to say the least. Why can't BRP follow the example of this fine Canadian Company.
