Hot feet !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My friend just bought a 2011 RS Spyder and has wanted one for a very long time so now she is happy......but she says her right foot gets hot as heck when riding...apparently the fan blows hot air onto her foot.........I looked at the area and there is a space on the bottom and top of the fan area that is open..............does anyone know of a plate/shield etc that she can buy to eliminate this problem?????

Go back to the forum home page with a list of all the vendors and look for spyderpops. There is a piece you mount in there that fully diverts the heat out the side. It works fantastic!

Have to agree..!!
spyderpops has several heat aides worth getting. We have an RS and installed them which really helps. Only other solution are highway pegs to move your feet out of the way..

The Spyderpops accessories should help. In addition, proper footwear (boots rather than tennis shoes) are of benefit. If the fan is running a lot, she is either riding at slow speeds or in stop-n-go traffic a lot, it is real hot there for this time of year, or her coolant is low. The fan should not run excessively on the highway. Slow speeds and stop-n-go compound the heat problem, too, as there is absolutely no air movement around your foot to distribute the radiator vent discharge. She might also want to look at adjusting her foot position, especially if she has highway pegs.

My friend told me that his wife was complaining about hot feet on his 2013 RT, he said that she was very uncomfortable with this, I told him to come by the house and i would look at it. He came by with his wife (this was in August last year 95+ Temp), when he rode up i could immediately see the problem. She was wearing shorts and flip flops.
After about 15 minutes of explanation she finally got it, problem solved.

Yea, Spyderpops has got something to alleviate her situation. It's weird so many have complained of this................................never been a issue for me on my '12.

I have the Spyderpops air redirector and E-scoop on my 2011 RS. I don't feel any heat at all on my right foot. Works great!

Be aware that the SpyderPops mod that puts Foam on two sides of the radiator will Get "Very Hot " and the residue from the foam and Sealant Can and Will Form a Film that " In my Case" Covered Most of my front radiator veins ?? Soo I took it ALL off and scrapped the sealant off also? Just check your radiator often, especially if your in a Hot climate- I wasn,t and it still covered my Radiator! This is just my experience.

Thanks for the tip Sarge. I'm in central FL and was going to get the foam blocking figuring it would help with cooling...........Art

I had that with my 2011 RS-S SE5. I used Header tape on the exhaust pipes next to the drivers foot pegs. I used http://www.amazon.com/DEI-010131-Tit...ds=Header+tape .

First I've heard on this issue. Have you contacted SpyderPops about your problems with his product? I'm sure he would be interested in knowing about faulty goods and try to make things right.

Good advice on getting SpyderPops heat shields. Great mod!
Another thought to the heat may be that her Spyder has enough miles on it to have burned out the OEM 'Y' gaskets. The right side usually burns out first causing a great deal of heat. When replacing them put in Honda PN 18392-MAM-000.
