Default 3400 mile trip on 2013 RT Limited

I just completed a 3400 mile trip on my 2013 RT Limited to Yellowstone Park, Devils Tower in Wyoming. The Black Hills, Sturgis, The Badlands in South Dakota and Glacier Park in Montana. Encountered strong side and head winds in South Dakota and Montana. My machine handled great in the winds. My buddies riding motorcycles had to fight the wind and was tiring for them. The handling of my 2013 is better than my 2010 RT with Elka shocks. I could drive faster thru the curves than than my friends on their motorcycles, one was scraping his floorboards. To those who think the 2013 has handling problems I have not experienced any problems. Mine had defective ball joints and the problem was solved by BRP. It was a great trip and saw about 6 other Spyders.

If my Spyder gets out of the shop today I will be able to test the new shocks in Idaho and Montana this weekend. I have put about 150 miles on mine since they replaced the shocks on Friday and I could tell a big improvement in the handling.

I'm a 2013 RT-S owner (since December 28, 2012) and but for the ball joint issue, I have had no problems. My 2013 is far superior to my 2010 RT-S (with elka shocks) in handling. I have almost 13,000 miles on my new spyder.

It is really great to hear all these positive stories about the 2013 Spyders. It is also encouraging for those sitting on the fence trying to decide on the new purchase.

    Thanks for sharing.

I am also a 2013 RTS owner since May of this year, and didn't even have to deal with the ball joint issue, she corners and handles like a true Spyder.

Sounds like a fantastic trip! I've had no problems with my 2013 RT Limited . . . except a really warm seat on hot days. The heat shoots up through the gap around the seat latch like its a chimney. I plan to do a bit of blocking with the foil tape used on air ducts to see it I can cut back on some of the heat . . . although, in October or November (or July where they build Spyders) in might feel good!
