Here are a couple of Pics of a new ST a women was riding, when we stopped at a coffee shop last week-end. She said she was testing it for a dealer! Let us all sit on it and check it out good. I think it suits me no? Or so I tell my wife!!
Yes you are right Lamont it was an ST-S. She was on no special ride, just out with 3 other Spyders for a Sunday drive. She was very willing to let us check it out, sit on it etc. So I am sure it was somehow dealer related!
Taking a closer look at the rear fender supports in the picture below on the new ST, it looks like BRP added some extra reinforcement braces on the lower side of the supports. I wonder if this is a solution to the cracking supports that some of the RS/GS owners have had. I had my fender supports replaced once under warranty on my 2008 spyder, and they are cracked again in just over a year. I must say, I do like the looks of the new ST.
would be intresting to have the list of the spare-parts ..is the front-hood the same like the RS ??
I´m shure it will win the price for the "most custom paintered modell" of the world .. fender.jpg the new fender - made for me ??

I too had the opportunity to view an ST-S up close last weekend. (A BRP rep had one that looked exactly like the one shown in the OP pictures).
The stance of this machine is indeed a cross between the RS and RT. Seating position felt, to me, a tad more towards the seating position of an RS than an RT. The one feature that took me by surprise were the floorboards. They are very hefty and I loved the forward and down tilt of these babies. They really add character to the ST and I am so looking forward to taking one for a spirited run when the demo unit hits my dealers lot. The manually adjustable windshield is a definite winner as well. Too bad this unit did not have the side bags.
Given that the current breakdown of RS to RT sales is approximately 60/40, I asked the rep if he believed that the ST would cut into RS sales. His response, in a nutshell, indicated that the ST was no more a replacement for the RS as it was for the RT. In short the ST is in a class of its own. A politician in the making?
