RIDE ON Question
I have a question about using ride on . are the bottles marked so you know that you have the correct amount in the tire? I know it is 13oz in the front & 18oz in the rear tire. thank you.

They are marked; but, sometimes you don't get a full bottle.

They are marked and pretty easy to eye-ball it.... but I put the bottle on a scale and weigh it... then just keep re-weighing it until you've put the right amount in.....
Spyder #1 - 2008 GS SM5 Premier Edition #1977. RIP after 80,000 miles.
Spyder #2 - 2012 RT SM5. Traded in after 24,000 miles.
Spyder #3 - 2015 F3 SM6. Put 13,000 miles on and sold it.
Spyder #4 - 2017 F3 SM6. Too good of a deal to pass up!

Fluid ounces are not the same as ounces of weight. Different density materials have different weights per fluid ounce. The Ride-On bottles are marked in fluid ounces...and that should be what their specs are meant to measure.

Great question, as I am planning to add Ride-on to my tires. Not to highjack the thread, but I have read where you can remove the weights on the tires. My question is can you leave them on?
Is it Friday yet? ... Oh yeah, I forgot. I'm retired

I left the weights on, rides great with the Ride-on in.

I have left mine on also. If you are thinking about removing them, mark where they are at; so, if you decide you need them, you know where they go.

Also, if you warm the Ride-On it goes in much easier. I just set my bottles in a bucket of hot water for a few minutes.

hmmmmmm.... well, they must be pretty close then... because when I deduct 13oz using the scale I end up with around 3 left in the bottle according to the lines on the side........

Water weighs 1.0425 ounces per fluid ounce. A more dense material, like Ride-On, would weigh slightly more. Probably close enough for government work, especially if you shoot for the middle of the range.

Worthwhile?
Do you guys think this is really a worthwhile upgrade?

I do.
If it prevents a nail in a board from stranding you, then it is worth it for sure. Even from a balancing perspective, the local tire shop could mount my rear tire but couldn't balance. Ride-on worked great for me.

How many bottles should I purchase for a gs?

The auto formula comes in 16 oz. containers. How much are you putting in the fronts and the rear? Not everybody puts in the same. But, 3 bottles should do it.
