2009 Spyder The Dealer wants to buy back, interesting
The dealer I purchased my Spyder from called once and then again to purchase my Spyder in Tucson, AZ. They're not looking to trade but to purchase outright. Strange I thought, Is there a shortage of used Spyders? Well, I'm going in to see what the gig is. (Funny, the gal said bring your title, I said I'm not trying to sell!) Has anybody else run into this our is just a local deal?

Never have seen that posted in over 3 years on this forum. Is that the dealer on Ina? They may be trying to give you a good price and want you to buy up to an RT?
2008 GS SE5 in 2008
Traded at 43,000 miles for a left over
2010 RT SM5 in 2011
Traded at 57,000 for a left over
2014 RTS SE6 in 2015, which has 35,000 miles
Oct 19th, 2017, totaled 2014 RT while killing a Javaline
Dec 12th, 2017 drove a 2017 F3L home. What an awesome machine!
Never had any breakdown stranded issues.

There might be a deal to be had. I would give it a go. Mind you if you are not ready to trade up then no deal is a good deal . Then again could just be a marketing ploy to get you into the showroom .

Perhaps an even-up swap for a new one?
This is very interesting; please let us know what happens.
Good luck!

Either they are getting a push on you to buy up to an RT or they have a VERY interested buyer for your particular RS (what color and trans? That might be a clue). Yesterday I had to travel an hour away to find the mirror housing tab for my RT. Ended up in a newly Can-Am dealer which had a nice selection of 2-wheelers. Had 2 Red RT's, an Metallic A&C, an Artic Green RS, a Black RT-S and a used white RS. Sales person in the entrance was nice, was willing to negociate an upgrade, but nicely said no. Might be some dealers trying to expand their inventories with used s for the folks who don't want to purchase a new one for personal reasons...

I would think since the RT is so popular now that there are tons of used RS's being traded in........
Spyder #1 - 2008 GS SM5 Premier Edition #1977. RIP after 80,000 miles.
Spyder #2 - 2012 RT SM5. Traded in after 24,000 miles.
Spyder #3 - 2015 F3 SM6. Put 13,000 miles on and sold it.
Spyder #4 - 2017 F3 SM6. Too good of a deal to pass up!

My dealer did the same thing...
...I purchased my 2008 RS used in 2010. Early this year, I got a letter from the dealer offering to buy my Spyder back, claiming there is a shortage of used Sypers. I didn't go in to the dealer because I know I would have been too tempted to "trade up".
I would have offered them an even trade; my 2008 Spyder and my husbands 2006 Honda VVX1300R for a new RT; but hubby wasn't willing to give up his ride.
So, I don't know if their "offer" was legitimate or not.

But it might be fun to dangle it in front of them and see just how much they want it...

I would trade up if my dealer offered to buy my spyder back . But I would just get a new RS ;P

I had a couple different Mazda dealers send me "VIP invite" to come to the dealership for special offers. I guess Mazda 3's were becoming extremely popular with the rising gas prices and wanted Mine. They told me, $11,000, I said the only way I leave without it is with a check for $15,000 in my hand..... Guess they didn't want my car THAT bad

So... you talk to them yet? (Ina or 22nd St?) If they made a really good offer, I might be tempted. (That new BMW GS Adventure is calling me!)
