i'm sorry, but I don't understand why you would need a belt tentioner, when the Spyder's belt tensioners are EASILY accessible.....and I would think that it might also put tention on the belt, causing it to stretch....

    Default Dang It

Let me say up front, I love my Capt. Jim Belt tensioners. It has taken the last bit of vibration out of my Spyder. I now have two of them... one on my RT and one on my wife's RT... I paid $275 for mine plus $16 shipping and handling.. That's a whole lot like $291 X 2.... Capt'n Jim are you offering a rebate for buying early and helping you get your great product on the map??? Just wondering.... Len

Sorry Len! Did you buy them from Ebay? That's why I offered them here at a discount to save the members $25. Thanks for being a great customer twice, I will refund the difference to you and any member that has bought 2 at the regular non member price. I can't give you the Christmas sale price, as that wouldn't be fair to all that have purchased at the non sale price. I purchased my spyder early, #459, but they didn't give me a break for me helping expose their product and get on the map, of course I didn't buy 2 either. I don't care though, the joy I have gotten is worth twice what I paid! I will send you a PM.

    Default Works Great

I had a chance to ride a couple of days ago between rainy days. The vibration is almost gone and makes for a much better ride. Great product!

    Default Your generous offer.....

    Capt Jim,
I haven't been on this thread for a while. I appreciate your kind offer, but that won't be necessary. I feel we get pay back every time we ride our vibration free RT's. I didn't add the tensioners until we had around 12k miles on both our RT's. So you can see that we had lots of vibration time to compare to these last 2000 miles with the tensioner. I have added a lot of "stuff" to both our Spyders and your belt tensioner is at the top of the list of things and upgrades. Thanks again.... Len & Kim

Hey capt.jim its been a long time since we have chatted on here. Correct me if I am wrong but I think I was the first to put a tensioner on an RT. Had to custom fit one for the RS because the one for the RT didn`t even exist yet. It is still going strong and works great. If you are on the fence about this mod then jump off, money well spent. Just my openion and maybe fact but getting rid of some of the vibration has to be better for the drive train.

I won mine at Lamont's BBQ and it made a big improvement for the vibration. I highly
Recommend this item. Thanks again Capt. Jim.

I was wondering who won it, I got there after everything was almost over, mostly the food , Lamonster was kind enough to pull out some burgers and dogs and fire up the grill for us latecomers, we must have looked like a bunch of hungry dogs, glad your enjoying the tensioner.

Jim, They delivered the tensioner today only two days after I ordered it! Again, great service.
The wife says I can't put it on today...don't know if I can wait until next year.

I've sent an email and a PM today and haven't heard from you hesitant to just send pay pal info without your acknowledgement. Don't want to miss the special pricing though

Just want all to know that we connected and I got my order in on time. Jim was out fishing and I feel guilty that I can't remove the above. His info and service is terrific. Can you blame a guy in South FL for fishing on the last day of the year? I sure can't.

    Thanks, Capt Jim

    Default Belt tensioner

I finally got the belt tensioner on this past week. Delay was a mess with a water pump leak - that stupid little "seal" that keeps the oil from getting into the coolant. A week to get the 12 possible parts for the pump and then confusion between the dealer and me on # of days to fix the pump and then some delays due their mx load, etc. Anyway, the belt thing works like a champ so far. Seems to be doing it's job. And in the middle of all that, finally got the oil pressure sending unit for my digital gauge not to leak, after two bad units. Ended up costing me mega bucks for hours of mx tearing cowl off and putting it back and sealant not correct and then the unit went ballistic. An unbelievable 5 oir 6 week mess and it's partly because I like to have a simple oil pressure gauge and can't do the mx like I always have due to back operations and arthritis.

Hey Tuck, glad to hear the tensioner is working well for you, at least one bright spot in your mix of problems. I replaced my leaking sensor also recently. I would have to turn the key on and off twice before it would crank up, no codes or anything. As soon as I replaced it all was normal.

Capt. Jim when are U gonna run another special on the belt tensioners? I have 2 Can Am's (RS) and will need a couple. Please let me know when U run a deal on 2 and i'm getting some! Please PM me if U have a deal on 2 even if they are returns for cheaper i'm interested. Buying 2 gets a little pricey but I still need them. Thanks Brother!
