I remembered to add the pics this time, both front and back.
Pretty foggy picture of the back. I still don't see the afore mentioned 'Knob'. But you definitly have a throttle lock. Maybe it's the tension adjustment for that. Without a better picture and a clue as to the 'knob' in question, that's my best shot.

To bad we are talking about Bumblebee67 Spyder, and not Blue Stars. The OP's question still has not been solved. So the thread goes on.
Still think its a throttle lock. Here's a picture of a knobby turny thingy under the throttle box. Its not on a Spyder, but someone could have put one on.

Upon installing a riser block on my '08 GS/RS I have discovered that underneath the throttle box on the right hand side there is a knob that rolls back and forth. I have no earthly idea what this does. Anybody........
Just goes to show how we (at least I) have to read closer . We were all looking at the back, and not the bottom. Now if you excuse me, but I have to go out and look at my spyder
Is it Friday yet? ... Oh yeah, I forgot. I'm retired

I was going to take a clear pic today, but don't have to since the mystery has been solved. Yes, I do have a throttle lock installed. By the way, it don't work that good with Kuryakyn ISO Grips.

That is the one I have installed, and yes it is supposed to work that way.

I was reading the other two posts, and thinking the same thing

It will be there. It is the Zip-Tie holding the power cable running to the 'Throttle Box'.
Yeah...yeah...the first pic is of a vista cruise throttle lock and the one Yazz has pictured is a throttle mate throttle lock. I'm wearing clean socks.
