X2 My dad served in WW2 and was wounded in Germany. As a kid I never understood this holiday, but as I got older the meaning became loud and clear.
Thank you dad, and all others that have and are serving!!!

DOING MY PART
With my wife being in INDY for her surgery and recuperation, I am here with her as well. The VA medical center is just a few blocks away. Tomorrow I am going there and wish all the veterans there a happy veterans day and thank them for their service. I am a retired Navy Chief. My father was in WWII and my oldest brother was in NAM. Both of them have since past. Thanks Pop and Big Bro for your service. If any of you are close to Indy, stop by the VA and stick your head in the door and thank our vets for their service. You might even see me there. I will have my retired hat on, tears in my eyes and a huge grin on my face, Happy Veterans Day to all who served, are serving and will serve. God Bless Our Troops.

PROUD TO SERVE
Bruiser served in the US Air Force from 1969-1989. During that time, he served in Viet Nam and other bases. My Dad served in WWII on the U.S.S. Hornet. I served in the Army Reserve from 1977-1980. We are proud to have served our country and thank all of the veterans and active-duty for continuing to keep our country free. For our Viet Nam vets, we say, 'welcome home, brother/sister'.
