Sikorsky Ride at Horseheads - more info
My mistake - it's not United Way. All proceeds go to the USO - very cool .
Here's the link for the ride:
http://www.troopride.com/
As I said, we'll be staying at the Hilton Garden Inn on Arnott Road, arrive at some point on Friday. We have others riding who will be staying at the Fairfield Inn in Corning.
I know there are some Spyder Ryders who work up in NY so it would be nice to have more show up!

Just sent e-mail to above link to get info on registering. Don't know if we will come down on Friday or ride down on the July 31.
Need to find out girlfriends schedule before making final plans.
Thanks for the update.

is there anyway that some one can post a map of this ride?
-
I'll ask HDX to do it tomorrow when he's out of work. I stink at those things.

I do know that from CT we will be taking Rout 84 to 17 to get there.
OK, I tried a map program - first time I ever did one but you can view it here - this is pretty much the route from what I gathered on the troop ride website:

OK, I made reservations, and the lovely bride's vacation just starts then, so we're 99% in!
P.S. No online registration here. Do you know he easy will it be to get tickets long distance?
No response from troopride@stny.rr.com yet, and it says on the troopride.com website
"This year's Troop Ride will be $15 per person. Pre-registration will begin on 6-1-10. Tickets will be available at local businesses. Check back soon for locations."
Thanks, Kim!

You can register when you get there. So psyched to be seeing you at Horseheads - are you staying at the Hilton Garden Inn?

So I'm bringing this forward to this year as last year I didn't make it and I,m all set for this year and yes this will be my 36th year aniversary. Just wondering if anyone else is coming besides HDXBONES and Smylinacha. I have 2 others coming from this area, one on an RT and one on an FJR 1300 and some are coming with Lou and Kim. Lou do you know how many are preregistered ? I have heard a thousand bikes. I know a lot of Spyderlovers will be in the Adirondacks during this time and I would have liked to been there as well, but I can go there anytime, although I will miss fun up there. So where ever you are riding in NY this weekend stay safe and have a great time.

Cool see everyone there. Ummmm, HDX how far is this diner, does this mean I have to get up at the crack of dawn on my first day of VACATION? You know I get cranky when I don't get to sleep in. Seriously.
-
Nan and I have reservations at the Hilton Garden Innfor Friday and Saturday night.
However, now Nan has to work Friday so that will give us a late start, don't know how late. I had an ordeal with a stray cat last night, so I have to get my first rabies shot on Friday morning. Hope I don't have a reaction to it!! We are also waiting to hear form a couple from Morris Pa. to have my male Icelandic Sheepdog breed their female. If the timing is messed up and it has to happen this weekend I will probably trailer the SpYder down, bring my dog with us, have those guys pick Trolli up when we get to the hotel, take him home with them and who knows what else.
Now if that doesn't sound like a soap opera what does?
Attached is a pic of the two dogs. Mine is the one lying down.
Hopefully we will see everyone in Horseheads!!

Only if it takes you 3 hours to get going.
