wow..just wanted to be first... now i can go look. Not much of diference in the RT...RS at least has new suspension.
Would like to see the new LCD....Not surprised at the lack of change on a 3rd year model. More time for people to learn how to fix them. Thanks ron

New 2012
Well, I am glad there are not many changes since I just bought mine a few weeks ago.
Surprised they did not do too many updates other than the display and adding heat shield to exhaust and color addition.

Liking the new colors, now I wish I would have waited until next year... Guess I will just have to buy me another one and let the wife inherit this one... LOL, she just told me I could buy a second one... She went and got her M endorsement so she could drive it after riding as a passenger 2 times. She loves it and finds every excuse to ride it when I am not. So we will be a two Spyder family next year! LOOKING FORWARD TO IT!

Doru the Destroyer-Spyder Photo Investigator
RS: interesting "New gas-charged FOX Racing Shox front suspension with threaded pre-load adjustment"...

Fewer upgrades and changes makes it easier to not run right out and order a new one..... I think I am glad for that...

What no more black RT-S. I don't know if I like the brown seat or not. Will have to see them in person.

Nothing too shocking--- knew they would eventually upgrade the display-- and the shocks are a nice option.... appears they do pay attention out here.....
Really like the green combo...
Spyder #1 - 2008 GS SM5 Premier Edition #1977. RIP after 80,000 miles.
Spyder #2 - 2012 RT SM5. Traded in after 24,000 miles.
Spyder #3 - 2015 F3 SM6. Put 13,000 miles on and sold it.
Spyder #4 - 2017 F3 SM6. Too good of a deal to pass up!

BNG (Bold New Graphics)
Personally not impressed.

Thanks for posting the pictures of the new 2012's. Based on what I see and read--I will not be running out to purchase Spyder #4 this time around either.
I am disappointed that with 4 years experience with the Spyder--they are not offering a bigger power plant or adjustable driver floorboards as an option.
Sorry: but I do not like the Magnesium or the Brown/Tan colors on the the new RT's either. They may look better in person--but I am not impressed with the colors from the photos.
I do like the new green color on the RS, and the RSS red/black combo isnt bad either.
I like 's --so don't get me wrong--but--I am thinking that after 4 years--they might have been a little more innovative with some things.

Love the red one.... Love the green one.
Not as much refinements as I had hoped for. Kinda anti-climatic if you ask me. Would love to see the new display though.
Guess I keep my GS another year +.

Probably... Inflation and all. That just means you can get a better deal on a 2011 model.

I will keep Orbit (2010 RS, Orbital Blue) for now.

I wonder if we will be able to get the shocks as an upgrade for current RS's? Might be worth it if it's not too pricey.

Not bad. But it sure feels good to be happy with the RT I have!! They will eventually come out with a big-boy RT. Larger engine, maybe stretched a few inches with more seat area and larger fuel cell. I hope I have 50-60,000 miles on mine by then. Be just about ready to trade by then…!!!
